To Dear Readers: If you guys aren't new to the story and has been reading this since, I would like to propose you guys to reread right from the prologue before proceeding. I made some editings to improve this book. It'd be alright if you guys don't, I mean it'd be a hustle to do so. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

In the whole 16 years that Ryoma had lived, he can admit that he never really admitted anything besides his love for Karupin and Ponta. He loved Tennis and he loved his father. But that was the two things he never really confessed. And now it looks like seeing Ryuzaki at that state made him want to admit something—it hurt seeing her like that.

He didn't know why and he didn't know how. All he knows is that it's been bothering him that even in his scheduled nap in classes, he can't sleep a wink. His eyes keeps averting at the petite girl on his right. He tried his best to no avail.

When it was break time, he tried his best to sleep. And it did. Only for being interrupted 3 minutes later by Hana.

"Ryoma-kun~." He heard her running towards him.

He really doesn't feel like going anywhere now nor talk to someone. He needs to—no, he wants to rest. To get some sleep. But looks like he'll be stuck with Hana now.

"Ryoma-kun, let's go down the cafeteria. I heard they have great sandwiches over there." He heard and felt chills run down his spine.

But he hates the cucumbers.

"Huh?" He feigned ignorance and acted like he just woke up.

"Mou~ Ryoma-kun. Let's go or we won't see even a shadow of the sandwich." Hana said to which could only sigh internally.

Well, atleast he tried his best. "Hn." He answered, stood up and walked ahead of Hana giving a quick look at Ryuzaki in the process.

Weird. He thought. He keeps feeling something foreign now whenever he sees the lass. But whatever it is, he will not care any further. It'd be a waste of energy to do so.

Just then, books falling was heard in the nearly empty classroom. He looked in his peripheral vision and saw a sight he found so hard to see. He averted his eyes.

Not worth his time.

"Hana, let's go." He called out to his girlfriend and started walking, thinking back to where this all started.

-----

Ryoma and Hana arrived at the cafeteria to see such a scene. It was like war, fighting over the legendary Segaku Sandwich. And at first sight, Ryoma already want out. It's a waste of time and he doesn't even like the sandwiches here.

But Hana has another plan and dived in the crowd of kids fighting over the sandwich. All the while Ryoma sits in the nearest table and decides to take back a small nap that was interrupted earlier. Because he knows how brutal this fight for bread is. Believe him, he knows. Thanks to his senpai-tachi's (mainly Momo and Eiji) 'punishment'. That's why he also knows how his girlfriend will take a long time before coming back.

"Hey, Sakuno-chan." He hears in the middle of his nap.

He immediately woke up from the nap and sees the scenario over the window of the cafeteria. Without him realizing.

"Horio-kun. What's the matter?" He hears her sweet voice yet again.

Ryoma certainly doesn't know what's wrong with him. Everywhere he goes, he always see the girl in braids. Everywhere he goes, it's as if he hears her voice. And now, he even calls her sweet? But he quickly erased that thought and focused on actually trying to nap.

Not worth his time.

"Ryoma-kun, what's wrong?" Hana suddenly appeared, almost giving him a heart attack from surprise. But him being him, he quickly recovered and acted as if nothing happened.

"Nothing." He said as he snatched the Ponta that was given to him by Hana. Suddenly, he wasn't in the mood. Seeing the sandwich made him really pissed off.

Thankfully, Hana seems to know nothing and didn't make the situation that big of a deal. She just sat across her boyfriend and took a bite of her sandwich. All the while Ryoma inwardly looked with disgust.

"I was just about to find you." Horio speaks to which he earns a quick giggle from the girl in braids.

He took a sip of his Ponta. He doesn't really like cucumbers.

TBC.

I'm utterly devastated. I wanted to make a longer chapter but my plans for this chapter came out to be so short :(((( I'll make it up to you guys in the next chapter cause checking on my memo makes me quite optimistic it'll make a long one, hee hee🤭
