prologue.
it was the first day of school. the professor for the world history class went over the points on his syllabus for the next semester. he finally stopped at one of the slides with the words technical university of dortmund written across. those words caught the half-german footballer's attention for he knew dortmund was a town in germany, the country of his father.
"a good friend of mine and myself have decided to propose this opportunity for anyone who wants to participate." professor gonzalez explained in spanish. "we will have a penpal project in which our students will exchange letters for one semester. and at the end of the spring semester, the school will host a trip to germany during the summer where you will meet your penpal." as he spoke, there were murmurs heard throughout the classroom full of curiosty. "if you would like to participate, you may sign up on a sheet of paper posted outside my office. you must make a decision by friday and at the end of the semester you will write a paper on your experience with your penpal which you will submit for extra credit. i suggest that you all consider doing this. i'm sure the exoerience will enrich your lives."
jürgen, being half-german and half-mexican living in the country of his mother, thought this as the perfect opportunity to learn more about the country where his dad was born. he also saw it as the perfect opportunity to get some practice in language.
and so he found himself walking to his professor's office on the other side of the school campus. there were no other names on the sheet of paper yet, he would be the first to sign up.
grabbing the black pen attatched to the doorknob, he wrote his name on the sheet of paper; jürgen damm.

just so you can have an idea as to what will go on in the story.
the story will have slow updates of about once a week, though i will try my hardest to update more often than that.
