After much celebration and festivities of the return of Aslan and the victory over evil, spring had returned to Narnian once again.

The children felt like they're no longer the childish children thy were back home. Instead, they seems older than they actually are.

Peter was soon recognized for his bravery and leadership in battle. Susan had been praised for her participation in defeating the enemy and for being such a gentle queen when she had been caring for the wounded. People had made a huge fuss over Edmond's courageous act for storming into the witch's base along with Leah. Lucy had been the favorite talk of them all. All of the children received honor and recognition for what they have done. But yet none were prideful about the deeds they have accomplished.

Aslan was no longer sad. Leah had finally understood the reason why he had been sad. But she kept it all to herself and waited until the time is right to reveal it to the others. She had held Aslan's words dear to her heart.

The lion had let them into a castle and had told them that they'll reside there as Kings and queens of Narnia. The place was named Cair Paravel. The new kings and queens were thrilled and surprised to be living in a castle. Aslan however told them to not worry. For everything in the country belonged to them. He had entrusted everything to the children. Knowing they'll rule with wisdom and care. The children nodded as they took everything Aslan had told them to heart.

That night, a banquet was held in the children's honor. Leah was worried about what kind of dress she'll be wearing for the ball.

"It seems to me that your majesty can't decide on what to wear tonight. Yet you're so skilled to plan strategies in battle." Her personal maid Miriam teased her.

"Oh, call me Leah. No formalities when we're in private. Also, can you help me?" Leah asked with a laugh. "I'm bummed out about what to wear."

Miriam stared into Leah's wardrobe long and hard until she had finally fished out an elegant red gown for her to wear.

"I'd think this fits you well, Leah. Don't you think?"

Leah grabbed the dress and stood in front of the mirror as she did a little twirl.

"You're right Miriam! It does fit me well!" She exclaimed.

"Then allow me to help you into this dress." Miriam offered as Leah nodded her head.

Once inside of the dress, Miriam offered to style her hair. Leah politely turned down her request because she simply like her hair to be down. Miriam made no further objection as she smiled at the queen. She looked gorgeous already for the way she is.

Soon the ball begin. Leah was then escorted by her maid to the ballroom. She waited up the stairs as Aslan made a speech. She didn't really listen to everything Aslan said since her eyes were too busy looking at Edmond. She couldn't help it since she liked Edmond since the beginning of the adventure but she never had the guts to tell him.

Maybe tonight is a better idea. She thought.

Soon, the light-hearted and soft music filled the atmosphere as Leah carefully made her way down the stairs. Her gown was a bit long. But when she almost reached the bottom of the stairs she had tripped on the hem of her gown, much to her embarassment. Luckily, Edmond had caught her in his arms at the bottom of the stairs.

"Whoa, you okay there?" He laughed as Leah held on to him for balance.

"I don't know." She grinned as she felt heat made their way up to her face and to her ears.

After Leah balanced herself, Edmond took a step back and bowed to her.

"May I have this dance?" He asked.

Leah looked away as she put her hand into his outstretched hand. Edmond took that as a yes and swept her to the middle of the dancing floor. Edmond wrapped one of his arms around Leah's waist as his other hand guided her.

Leah breathed a sigh of relieve since she had took up dancing class while she was still in America. Or she'd end up stepping on Edmond's foot once so often.

"Are you...... Comfortable?" Edmond asked her as she nodded slightly, their noses almost touching due to them being too close.

"You're pretty quiet tonight. You okay?" He asked her. "You're usually so chatty."

"Oh, uh, yeah, I'm fine." Leah stuttered. "It's just that I'm a little nervous."

"What are you nervous about?" Edmond pressed. He wanted to know how Leah thought of him. Did he made her uncomfortable and she's not saying anything because she didn't want to make him uncomfortable?

"Uh.... Well, I..... Um..... Okay, here's the thing." Leah begin. "If you really want to know that is..... " She blushed.

Edmond kind of had an idea of where this is going judging by the amount of blush on her face and her stuttered speech.

"Don't worry. I think I know what you're thinking and I know that my answer had been answered." He said to her as he suddenly brought her close. Leah gasped as she could feel Edmond's breath on her face.

"I like you Leah." Those words escaped Edmond's mouth.

Suddenly, the time seems to slow as Edmond murmured those words in her ear.

"I like you." He repeated.

"Oh Edmond!" She squealed as she jumped up in his arms. "I like you too!"

The time resumed as Leah smiled brightly at Edmond. She realized that fairy tale sometimes do come true.

The ball lasted all night until midnight. Aslan called it a night as the Narnians begin to exit. Soon, everyone left.

Leah was up in her chamber smiling to herself as she drifted to sleep on the big, soft, king sized bed.
