Chapter 3

Kiki texts me that she was pulling into the parking lot so I excuse myself from the game and meet her outside.

"So.. who am I meeting today?" she asks curiously.

"Just a couple of boys.. or so," I mutter the last part.

"I thought you were hanging out with Melony."

"I lied."

I lead her inside and she catches sight of the boys as soon as we enter. I quickly cover her mouth to restrain her from screaming.

"Sorry, she's a crazed fan," I say and she slaps my arm "What? You are..."

I remove my hand and keep them on her shoulders.

"Hi! I'm Kiki it's a pleasure to meet you all, and I can't believe this is really happening, I love you guys so much!.." she says trying to keep her cool, squeaking at the end of her sentence.

"Hi, we're One Direction," all the boys say in unison jokingly, which makes me giggle.

"Yeah, I know who you guys are," her grin spreads, making her look like Cheshire the cat.

"We've already started this round but you can join us in the next one. You'll just have to wait until we finish," Harry says to her, smiling politely.

I can see her eyes widen. She is just absolutely in love with Harry. She nods her head quickly. We continue the game and I end up winning, which was not the least bit unexpected.

We start a new game and add Kiki in this time.

It's fair to say that the rest of the game went really well. When we finished, we returned our shoes and headed outside.

"We had so much fun today, boys. Thank you so so much for inviting us!" I say before Kiki goes ballistic, holding her mouth to keep back a fan girl tantrum.

"We had fun, too, Emma. We can always hang out again when neither of us are busy." Niall says.

"We would love to!" Kiki blurts out before I can say anything.

I look around at them, and at our cars, getting an idea, wanting to spend more time with them.

"How about we split the car space. Some can come in my car and some can go in Louis'." I suggest shyly.

"I'll go with Emma," Niall and Liam say together. They grin and walk over to my car.

"So I guess that leaves me, Harry, and Zayn to go with Louis," Kiki says, flashing me a crazed grin.

"Okay.. I better go start the car before they start it for me..." I say, smiling.

"We'll meet you there," Louis says, turning and walking to his car, giving me a small wave.

I wave back, even though he can't see me. I turn as well and sigh before walking around my car and getting in to the driver's side. I see Liam in the back with his arms crossed and Niall in the front with a cheeky grin. I give them a look before starting the car.

"I got the front," Niall chuckles, making me laugh, too.

"I can see that," I retort, smiling at him. I look back to see Liam, and I give him a mock pouty face to mirror him. I back out of the parking space and follow Louis to Niall's house.

When we get there Niall introduces me and Kiki to his mom, which is crazy for me, and we all head up stairs to hang out. Music is playing and we're just fooling around, having a good time. I sit down on the floor leaning up against the bed and Niall joins me sitting right next to me.

"You guys having fun?" he asks, looking at me.

"Yeah, loads! Thank you so much for inviting us." I say facing towards him, grinning.

"You're welcome," he says, before hesitantly leaning over to hug me. My face flushes. I need to get pinched. This feels so unreal.

I sigh dreamily.

It's true.. Niall does give the best hugs...

I think I'm developing a huge crush on this guy.

I look over at Kiki and she is dancing with Harry.

I giggle at the sight, making Niall pull away and look down at me curiously.

"What?" Niall asks.

"Nothing.. I was just watching Kiki dance. Almost admiring how she can get anything she wants, ya know?"

He nods, before smiling,"You mean Harry?"

"Yeah, he's her favorite but she LOVES all of you. Believe me, I wasn't exaggerating when I said love."

"Yeah? And who's your favorite?"

I just look at him, dazed. I think it's safe to lie.

"Well... I really d-don't have one. I like all of you equally. I-I guess I'm not a big enough fan to h-have a favorite." I manage to sputter, stuttering like a fool.

"Yeah?" He asks. He has the same flirty tone he had in restaurant.

"Yeah," I say nervously, tucking a piece of my hair behind my ear.

I bite my lip and stand up.

"Where's your bathroom?"

"Down the hall, first door on the right," he directs me. I nod thankfully.

I walk out the door and into the bathroom. I shut the door behind me and stare into the mirror.

"You're not good enough for him" I think to myself. I was hoping some unknown force would make my reflection tell me other wise but there was nothing but silence. I was being silly, I concluded, before shaking my head and laughing, hoping it'd make my nerves go away.

I walk back out and into Niall's room.

"Hey, everything alright Em?" Lou greets me as I walk in. "I can call you that, right?"

"Yeah... and I'm fine ,Louis, don't worry about me I just have a headache that's all," I say, holding my head, feigning the hurt at first.

It actually does, so it wasn't that big of a lie. I sit down on Niall's bed, my hand running over the covers. It's so soft.

I look around.

Everyone is dancing and I'm sitting on the bed all by myself.

I smile when Liam starts to walk towards me.

"Is everything okay?.. You don't seem your usual self, " he says sitting down next to me, rubbing my back.

"Yeah, I'm okay. I just.. I just have a headache."

"You should drink some water, that might help," he suggests.

"Thanks Liam," I say.

"It's no problem. Here, follow me. I'll show you where the kitchen is."

We get up and I follow him to the kitchen. He gets me a glass and fills it with water before handing it to me.

"Thanks, Liam," I say, smiling to distract from the throbbing pain inside my head.

I sip my water and he rubs my shoulder.

When I finish, my head feels a little bit better and we head back up to the room.

I sit down on the bed, leaning on the headboard, forehead in my hand. I feel a slight touch on my shoulder. I look up, only to face Niall.
