Chapter 5

Emma's POV

Niall's mom makes breakfast as soon as everyone was up.

I've never seen so many pancakes before in my life.

I tried to stay as far away from Niall as I possibly could without seeming suspicious. I decided to sit by Liam.

"Hey," Liam says, pulling out my chair.

"Hi", I say sternly, sitting down.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing," I say, rather quickly.

"It sure doesn't sound like nothing."

"Liam, trust me, okay?" I say, looking down."It's nothing."

He just sits down next to me and as soon as I start to eat, I feel so much better.

These pancakes are the most delicious pancakes I've ever tasted in my life! Niall's mom is an excellent cook.

Me and Liam start to talk about school related things.

I told him I got accepted to MCC with a scholarship in softball and that me and Kiki moved in together just recently.

Then he told me his whole life story even the part where him and Danielle broke up.

I felt kinda bad for him.

I started school in a month. I couldn't wait, but also I didn't want to start.

I would miss the boys too much, especially Liam.

Liam understands me like no one else could.

Niall is great but me and Liam just seem to have a special connection.. but the only problem is he may not be ready for another relationship yet...

It's just all so confusing.... What a mess.

Niall's POV

Liam is getting all of her attention lately.

I need to find a way to talk to her.

I wanted to tell her so badly but I was scared of my own feelings, and worse... Rejection.

It was nothing big just yet..

I know she feels something but I need to know just what.

I wish I was a mind reader, that would make life so much easier. I really like her and I need to know if she kinda really likes me, too.

Emma's POV

I look at my phone and it's almost 10:30...

Wait.

10:30!

I'm going to be late for work!

Oh, I screwed up. Niall starts walking towards me.

I start to gather my things quickly.

"Sorry, Niall, l have to go. I'm gonna be late for work. I'll be back after, if you'd like," I say, gathering the last of my things.

"Oh.. Okay," he says with a slightly dampened look on his face.

"We'll talk about it after I get back, okay?" I ask.

"..Sure."

I walk out and drive as quick as I can to the apartment me and Kiki share.

I run through the door and throw on my black polo an black skinny jeans.

I quickly brush my hair and throw it into a ponytail. I grab my keys and my phone and run out the door and to my car.

I drive to Nando's and manage to make it just in time.

"Hey, sorry. I'm here," I say and clock in on the time chart, throwing on my apron.

"It's alright sweetheart, you weren't late. You can wait in your usual spot." Cheryl told me gesturing towards the corner where I had met Niall and Liam.

"Thank you so much."

"No problem, sugar... now... Chop,Chop!" She says, clapping her hands.

I walk over to my section and take orders. My shift ends at 2:30 today, thank goodness.

By the end of my shift I've made $20 in tips.

This job just keeps getting better and better.

I head back to my apartment to change clothes.

I throw on some black leggings and a one shoulder shirt over a tank top.

I grabbed Kiki some clothes as well.

I got back in my car and drove back to Niall's.

I shut my car door behind me and walk towards the door.

Just as I reach for the knob, it opens for me.

Niall comes out with a serious look on his face.

"Is-is everything okay?" I ask nervously.

"Not everything," he says, taking my hand.

He shuts the door behind him and walks me to the bench in his front yard. He sits down pulling me to sit next to him.

What is going on?

His baby blue eyes meet mine and I'm instantly flooded with emotions.

"Emma, this is what I wanted to tell you earlier... and I j-just was to afraid to ask," he stutters."A-and I'm really sorry."

He keeps going on about how sorry he is.

I know the question he's about to ask.

I can feel my face heat up and I cut him off and kiss him.

I put my hand to his face and his arms wrap around my waist.

I liked him and he liked me and with that, I knew I was good enough for him.
