Chapter 9

Emma's POV

I'm in my room getting ready for my date with Niall as Kiki walks through the door. She sits down on my bed and watches. I pick my purple ruffling dress out of my closet and turn around to show her.

"This good?" I ask pressing the dress against my body.

"Perfect!" Kiki exclaims.

I rush into the bathroom and slip on the dress. I come out and go through my jewelry box, picking out some silver hoop earings. I turn to Kiki for approval.

"You look gorgeous girl! He's going to love you! How much you wanna bet he's taking you to Nando's?" Kiki says rolling her eyes playfully.

"I wouldn't bet a penny because I have no doubt." I laugh.

An hour later there is a knock on the door and Kiki answers it. She invites Niall in and he drops his jaw when he catches sight of me.

"Em you look lovely...." Niall says still taking in my appearence.

"Told you Emmaline!" Kiki says in her 'I told you so!' attitude.

"Emmaline?"

"Yeah that's my nickname for her."

I blush intensely and Niall wraps me in a hug.

"I love it. I think I might have to start calling you that." Niall says grinning.

I laugh and Niall takes my hand.

"Ok you two love birds better get going!" Kiki says pushing us towards the door.

"Bye Kiki!" I yell inside the door before shutting it.

We walk down to the parking lot where his Land Rover is parked. I climb in the passenger seat and Niall into the driver's seat. The car ride is mostly quiet until Niall turns up the radio and we sing along.

After a short car ride we pull into the Nando's parking lot. We walk towards the entrance hand in hand. Niall opens the door for me and I walk through. Niall holds my waist and guides me up to the hostess's counter.

"Reservation." Niall says quietly.

"Oh yes Mr. Horan, right this way." The perky brunette says and leads us around the corner to where I usually wait tables.

All the pieces start to fall into place. This is where we first met....

"Ni..." I say shocked.

"Emmaline..." He says mimicing my tone and I laugh.

As we wait for our waitor I see Cheryl walking up out of the corner of my eye. Oh boy....

"Hey Emma! I'm so sorry to interupt your date but may I please see you in the back?" she asks.

"Ummm....." I look at Niall for approval and he nods.

"I promise I'm only borrowing her for a teensy tiny moment!" Cheryl says pinching her fingers together and I raise from my seat.

I mouth a quick Sorry to Niall and let her lead me to the back. We stop in an office that a sign on the door reads 'Employees Only'' and we walk inside. She motions for me to take a seat as she sits down in her roller chair.

"Sorry for interupting but I wanted to go over a new work schedule with you..." She goes on and on about new hours. The only thing I payed attention to was that I would be working closing shift now instead of afternoon. "Ok you're dismissed! Again I'm really sorry..."
