Maia's POV:

I follow Jordan around as he leads me through the crowd of teenagers. His house is really big, so he can clearly fit a lot of people. He leads me over to a girl. Her hair is long and blonde, and she has a skinny figure.

"Maia, this is Selene. Selene, Maia."

Almost immediately after seeing my face, hers lights up with excitement. A huge, heartwarming smile spreads across her face.

"Hi! It's nice to meet you!" She says.

"Hi!" I say back. Her excitement is contagious, and I feel myself opening up to her.

"I'm from Texas. I just moved here a while ago." I say.

"Nice! I love Texas." She states. "Well, starting now, I'm officially your best friend slash tour guide slash plus one! Gimme your phone." She expectantly holds her hand out.

I gladly obey, and hand her my phone.

Maybe making friends isn't so bad.

She puts her number in, and the contact is labeled 'Sel'.

She's about to hand it back to me,
When Jordan interjects. "Uh uh uh. Me next." He looks up at me-but only slightly, so that he has this flirty, sweet grin. She hands it to him, And then he hands it back to me after a moment.

He put his name in as 'J'.

Everyone is so nice.

I think I like this town.

He introduces me to a few more people. The first one after Sel is Tina. She's blonde, and she gave me kind of a dirty look. She acted nice, but I know a fake when I see one.

The next was Griffin. He's a handsome jock-I'm not really into jocks. He seems pretty full of himself. He has short/medium length hair that he pushes back every ten seconds, and his muscles are pretty big. He's wearing a muscle shirt, so it's pretty obvious that he's a jock. And it's not a surprise that he's dating Tina.

The next person is a girl named Dinky. Yes, her real name is Dinky. Everyone calls her D, though. She's real pretty. Her blonde hair goes just past her chest, and her blue eyes stand out. She's not very smart-but she's the sweetest girl you'll ever meet.

The last is D's boyfriend, Keaton. He's very handsome. He has short brown hair, green eyes, a perfect jawline, and a nice body. He treats D like she's the best thing since sliced cheese. (That's a good thing)

In an hour or so-After the big crowd of people leaves, the remaining number of about seven people sit around the campfire.

They tell me everything about themselves, and I do the same.

Jordan speaks first. "Okay, so we're going to play an introducing game, to get Maia to know all of us and vise versa. We'll go in a circle. I'll go first," He continues. "I'm Jordan. My favorite color is every color, and I love food. My favorite food is obviously Mac and cheese, since I made a boatload of it tonight." We all laugh. "My life goal is to find the perfect girl and to have beautiful babies with her." He glances over at me, but quickly looks away.

We laugh even harder.

Then Sel goes next. "My favorite color is light blue. My favorite food is everything-Except Brussels sprouts." She cringes. "And...my life goal is to..not be single forever." We laugh.

She's got a great personality. Any guy would be crazy not to date her.

Then Tina goes next. Her life goal is to grow up and be an actor. She hates a lot of foods, and her favorite color is purple.

Dinky says, "I like everything. Flowers especially. My favorite color is pink, and I love people who don't treat me like I'm stupid. My life goal is to become a singer."

We skip Griffin, because he doesn't even pay attention. He's fixing his hair.

Okay... my turn.

"Well... I'm Maia. My favorite food is Mac and cheese or red beans and rice. My favorite color is..." I stop and think for a moment. I don't want to choose. I love them all together. "Beautiful. My favorite color is beautiful. And my life goal is to be a writer. But If I could pick anything in the world to do, I would be.....

I'd be the person to pick music for movies." They all stare at me with intense focus.

"Nice." They all mutter things like, "good, good." Or "sweet." Jordan just sits there and stares.

"What?" I ask him, confused.

"Hmm? Oh, nothing." He looks away, using his hand to cover his smile.

We talk on for a long time. It's about 9:30 when I have to pee.

"Hey Jordan, where's your washroom?" I ask politely.

"I'll take her." Griffin quickly volunteers.

Jordan looks a bit uneasy, but lets him take me anyways.

Griffin leads me through the house, through a door on the first floor.

It's a guest bedroom.

...What?

"Umm..where's the-" he shuts the door.

"I saw the way you were looking at me." He says.

Wtf? This guy is so clueless.

"What!?!? I was not looking at you! You have a girlfriend! Snap out of-" he slams his lips against mine. I try to push him away, but his grip on my arms grows stronger and stronger.

He shoves me onto the bed. "Mmm! MMMMM!" I try to scream through the breaks in his forceful kisses. I start to cry. What if he rapes me? Just as he begins to lift my dress, J comes rushing in.

He runs over to the bed, and pushes Griffin straight off of it with only one light push.

All of the fun and flirtiness from earlier completely washes away. The only thing left in his eyes is anger.

Griffin begins to stand up and speak. "J-"
J punches him STRAIGHT in the face.

"GET THE HELL OUT OF MY HOUSE." J says sternly.

Griffin runs out, and you can hear tire marks a few seconds later.

I start to cry. This has never happened to me before. I honestly thought that he was going to rape me. I start to cry really hard-more like wail. An anxiety rises inside my chest, and I start to have breathing problems.

J runs over to the bed and hugs my shoulders from the side, ensuring that he's not violating my space.

I lay my head on his shoulder, and begin to wail like a blubbering baby.

"Shhh. It's okay." He rubs my arm. "I'm so sorry. I should have come sooner. I shouldn't have let that happen."

"It's not your fault." I say, my voice all nasally and wet.

"I don't want to go home." I don't want to go home and face my mom and my sister. Not that I did anything wrong, but if I go home now, they'll never let me leave the house again.

"You can stay here." He offers.

Wow.

I've never stayed at a guy's house before.

"I would rather not be alone in this creepy guest room, no offense." I wipe a tear off my face.

"You can sleep in my room. I'll sleep on the floor. My mom just washed my entire bed set."

I feel safe with Jordan. I feel like we know each other really well, even though i've only known him for a few hours. We told each other almost everything earlier during the campfire.

"Okay. Thank you so much." I start to cry a bit more.

Nobody is ever this nice to me.

"No problem." He says with sympathetic eyes. "Call your mom and tell her you're staying. I'll call mine."

The phone rings.

Sorry If this isn't top notch. I stayed up extra late to do this for you guys. Vote and comment please! Love you all! 😘
