Chapter 19     

(Nick’s POV)

            I just stared at Alex as I saw the knife touching her arm, and right there where I always knew, the flower with my name inside, that blade was right on top of it. She was going to cut me out of her life?

            I froze, I couldn’t say anything. We were fighting over something I said, and it’s brought her down to this of cutting herself.

            I flashed back to when… she started it all…

            “Look what you have done Kevin,” Joe told him angrily. “Our very own sister cut herself just now because of the hurt you caused her.”

            Kevin looks to see Alex was crying, and then looks down to see her left wrist, and his face went white.

            David, Nick, and Danielle were in shock.

            “Why?” Dani asked her trying to breathe.

            “Because of Kevin’s choice?” Nick asked who was sitting next to Kevin also staring at the cut.

            Kevin reached out to take her left hand to stare at the cut, which she flinches, but he grabbed her hand, and then looks up at Alex. “Is this true?”

            Alex just stood there and cried while nodding her head.

            Then she did it again after that… he didn’t know about the second time, but remembers she told them that it was when dad yelled at her because she was worthless on stage the day before the first night of our concert. But he wasn’t yelling at her because she was worthless. Dad just wanted the concert to be perfect since it was her first one. The third time was that night on her birthday.

            Right after her and I sang a song together from Les Miserables, ‘A Little Fall of Rain’. I kissed Alex’s forehead and as I held her close. Then I saw a glimpse of her wrists and white tape underneath the wristbands. I started to cry holding her.

            “Nick and Alex Jonas!” they heard.

            Nick and Alex look at each other and she sees his eyes were hurting, she reached up to kiss his cheek, “It’s okay,” she words softly.

            “No, its not,” he words looking deep into her hazel eyes as Joe and Kevin came over to help them stand up.
