Chapter 39

Nessa's POV:
I walk in the house to complete silence. That's weird. Roni's home and Grayson should be here by now. I go up to Roni's room and knock quietly. No answer. I crack open the door and peek in to see her and Aaron asleep on the bed. Awwwwww they're so cute!!! They look so peaceful and I don't wanna wake them up so I close the door and go back downstairs. I text Grayson to ask him where he is.

Nessa: Hey babe, are you almost here?

Grayson: I'm not feeling too well. I think I'm just gonna stay home.

Nessa: What do you mean stay home? You've only been talking about going to this game for forever! Are you sure everything's ok?

Grayson: I'm just a bit sick. You don't have to worry about me. I'll see you tomorrow.

Nessa: Ok I hope you feel better soon I love you!

*no response*

That's weird. He texted me a half hour ago saying he was on his way and super excited. I better go to his house to check on him.

Ethan's POV:
Grayson came home super drunk with a black eye and a cut lip. He was supposed to go to the big game with Nessa tonight. I wonder what happened to him! "Hey Gray! What's up? I thought you were going to the game with Nessa tonight. Are you okay?" I ask him as he sits on the couch next to me. "I waaassss buuut thennnnn ssshheee wasssnn'ttt hoommeeee annndd thhennn I sawww Ronnnii annddd I couulldnn'ttt heellppp myysellff" he says, clearly wasted. "Dude why would you do that?!?! And now you're completely drunk!!!" I yell at him. He really is an idiot, but it looks like Aaron won so that's good. He doesn't answer so I look over and see that he fell asleep. What am I going to do with this guy? I know we're twins but we're nothing alike! He gets a text from Nessa so I respond for him. I didn't tell her the truth cuz I think Grayson needs to tell her himself. That's his problem. A couple minutes later, I hear a knock on the door. I open it to see Nessa. SHOOT!!!

Nessa's POV:
I drive to Grayson's house and knock on the door. Ethan opens it and as soon as he sees me, his face turns white. "Hey E! You ok?" I ask him. "Ummmm yup. Totally fine. Yea. I'm fine. Why wouldn't I be fine." he says, starting to get nervous and talking really fast. "Are you sure? Cuz it kinda seems like your hiding something from me." I question. "Wellllll if you really wanna knowwwwwwww..." he starts. "I'm listening..." I say. It's silent for the next minute while he's thinking of how to tell me whatever it is that he's hiding. "I'm waiting..." I say, kinda annoyed.

Ethan's POV:
How do I say this??? How do I tell the girl that I love more than anything, the girl that I've had a crush on for so long that her boyfriend cheated on her??? And not just with anyone, with HER OWN SISTER!!! It's not Roni's fault though. She'd never betray her twin sister or her loving fiancé like that. "I'm waiting..." she says. Oh no. I guess I'll just start. I hope this doesn't turn out horribly! I hope she doesn't think I'm lying! I hope she doesn't hate me for my brother's mistake! "Well, Nessa. When Grayson went to pick you up, you weren't there yet but Roni was. Now I don't know the whole story yet because Grayson came home drunk and passed out on the couch after saying one sentence but please don't hate me! I didn't do anything wrong I swear! And please don't hate Roni! She didn't do anything wrong either!" I calmly explain before she interrupts, "What do you mean? What happened? You're starting to scare me!" I guess I'm just gonna come right out and say it. "Grayson cheated on you with Roni." I say super fast. "What? No he didn't. You're lying! Tell me it isn't true!!!" she starts yelling at me. "I'm sorry Nessa but drunk people never lie." I put my head down. I'm ashamed in my brother. She starts crying because she knows I'm right. "But what about the texts he sent me?" she asks, sobbing now. "I texted you from Grayson's phone. He had already passed out when you texted him." I tell her. "Is Roni okay?!?! Did he hurt her?!?!" she asks panicked. "I don't know what he did to her but he came home with a black eye and a cut lip so I'm assuming Aaron saved her." I say. "Ok good. When he wakes up, tell him we're over and I never wanna see his face again!" she screams while still crying. I say, "Okay I will." but then a smile comes to my face. My crush is now single. I lean in to kiss her but she slaps me. "Don't even think about it!" she yells and runs away. Now I'm the one crying. Oh no! What have I done?!?!

I'm awful! I'm so sorry guys! I never post and I'd like to apologize for keeping you guys waiting for the next chapter for so long. I'm hopefully gonna finish writing this book over winter break and then start a new one but idk. I hope you liked it! Make sure to vote and comment what you think!
