Once again she forgot to ask for his name, but that was because the conversation flowed so easily between them that not knowing each other's names was never an obstacle. She had planned to write during the night, but the conversation didn't die as they said goodbye. They kept exchanging text messages all through the afternoon and early evening. The messages were about the authors and books they had talked about and the guy even suggested places she should visit in Suncheon. Nara convinced Angie to get away from the drama she was watching for a while so they could go to a bar where they had different types of beers from all over the world. His recommendations matched exactly the taste of a Brazilian girl and her German friend who liked beer way too much to fully appreciate the ones they had tried before while in Korea. Well, they spent more money than they could on that, but it was worth it because that night also made the roommates' bond stronger.
Angie was not so nervous after drinking a little and she even opened up about her fears concerning Gabi. Their closeness was as recent as Nara's presence, as the newcomer was the connection that brought the girls together, although they knew each other before. Nara could notice Angie had an idealized view on relationships and all the dramas she watched and the romantic romantic stories she liked weren't helping her to deal with reality. Angie didn't have doubts about her attraction to Gabi and she confessed to be romantically involved as well. It seemed to be, as she described, a tendency in her life. She had never considered physical appeals to be apart from romantic desire. She had never considered feeling both of those attractions for a girl either. Some beers later, she confessed her own anxiety to sort out something that was just starting and she reported the conversation that Nara secretly had heard about her expectations.
-I don't think it's a bad idea to take one day at a time and live each moment without thinking much about the future, Angie. You are experimenting a new relationship, so just do it!
Nara took a last sip of her tall glass of beer, already a bit too sleepy because of the alcohol.
-Are you doing the same, Nara?
Nara bent over the table and placed her elbow at the center of its top, resting her face on her hand. They had already drank too much and she felt it was time to go home. Angie repeated her roommate's gesture to listen to her answer.
-I think I am... I left my problems at the past and now I'm doing exactly the same as you: living each moment.
-With the guy from the café?
Angie's face showed a thrilled expression but her voice was still slow.
-Yes and no.
-What do you even mean?
Angie still had her head resting on the table but she fumbled through her purse, looking for some money. She was definitely drunker than Nara, but she also seemed to be wishing to go home. Nara just watched her friend's actions, trying to understand exactly what she was doing.
-Oh, sorry. – Angie handed some crumpled won bills on Nara's hand, implying that her friend should pay for their beers with that. – I just remembered you don't like me suggesting that you should have something with that Oppa.
-It's because I am too similar to you, you know?
Angie abruptly sat down still and gave all her attention to Nara.
-Are you also in love with him but you don't know what to do next?
Nara laughed at her friend's suggestion. Then she searched for her wallet inside the many pockets of her jeans jacket.
-No I'm not in love with him... I just like his company. And... - Nara finally found her wallet in one of her jacket's pockets and she placed it carelessly on the table along with her mobile – the only man for me is this one here!
