"What are you doing for Spring Break?" Hope asked me as we sat out in the garden and I shrugged.

"I wouldn't know, I don't exactly have any family to be with." I said, lying down as I looked into the sky.

"Hello, you have me." She says, throwing a bit of grass on me and I chuckled.

"You have your family to hang out with. Go to New Orleans, live the life over there." I said, and a sad smile appears on her face.

"I don't think so."

"Well then let's do something together, considering we both have nothing to do." I said, and she chuckles before nodding.

"Have you spoken to Rafael?"

"Nope."

"Why not?"

"How am I supposed to know? Every time I walk in his line of direction, he walks off. He's avoiding me."

"I doubt that." Hope says and I give her a deadpanned look.

"I don't just imagine these things."

"Or are you scared to go up to him now knowing how you really feel?" She asked and I rolled my eyes sitting up.

"I've known how I've felt about him since the day I saw him. And yeah maybe I'm not going up to him on purpose but-,"

"But what?"

"Fine, I'm scared." I said, sighing and she looks at me.

"Scared of what?"

"Scared of everything. Given my last two relationships didn't exactly work out, I'd say that's a sign."

"You're dodging the question." Hope says, giving me a look.

"I've hurt every person I've ever cared about, unintentionally. What if one monster pops up and messes with my mind again? Or I seriously hurt any of you? You think I could handle that?"

"You're saying what ifs, what if everything works out and you're just overthinking it?" Hope asked and I shook my head.

"That's the reason I left, I can't be around if I can't deal with my own personal issues. I hurt everyone I've come in contact with. I'm falling in love with him and if I hurt him then I won't be able to forgive myself." I said, Hope's smile widens making me look at her.

"You said it. You said the L word and I'm not even Rafael." Hope says and my eyes go slightly wide.

"It slipped out. I-I mean Nate said something but I-ohmygod." I said, and she chuckles looking at me.

"Tell him before it's too late."

"You should really be taking your own advice considering the feelings between you and the other one." I said, and she chuckles rolling her eyes.

"There's Rafael. Go to him." Hope says and I looked seeing Rafael walking past. I get up and I jogged over to him, calling out for him.

"Raf." I said, and he turns to look at me.

"Hey Charmeine, how are you? I'm sorry about what happened." He says and I nodded, smiling lightly.

"Um, thank you. Look do you have a minute to talk?"

"I really gotta go. See you around." Rafael says walking away and I stood there. I turned around to Hope who just shrugs her shoulders, making me sigh before walking back over.

The whole day had gone by and every time I went to say something to Raf, he would walk right by me. I was now in my room, thinking about it as multiple thoughts ran through my head as I tried to pick out which one it is before scoffing to myself.

"Hell will freeze over before I let a boy make me over think." I mumbled to myself as I shoved on my shoes and jacket. I stormed all the way to his dorm room, knocking on the door and Landon opens it up.

"Where is he?" I asked and Landon opens the door up wider seeing Rafael on his bed. Landon looks between us before nodding awkwardly.

"I was supposed to meet Hope anyway. You two have a nice night." Landon says, walking out and I walked in.

"Charmeine what are you doing here?"

"You've been ignoring me, why?"

"I just wanted to give you space." Rafael says and I squinted my eyes at him, giving him a look.

"Why the hell would I want space from you?"

"I don't know. You and Nate seemed pretty cosy."

"What the hell does Nate-," I started before it clicks and I looked at him, "You were there that night."

"I know you like him and he likes you. I guess I already messed up what we had when I slept with Lizzie." Rafael says and I give him a look.

"For the past two days you had been ignoring me and I didn't know what it was. You made me overthink myself because of what you think you saw or heard that night. Well then let me recap it for you because you didn't hear what I said." I said, walking closer to him, "I'm falling in love you Raf and I can always try to ignore it but I can't. Now you can take it however-,"

I was interrupted when I felt Raf's lips on mine, making me melt immediately as I pulled him closer to me. I intertwined my fingers through his hair, kissing him sweetly as his hands laid on my waist. I then pulled away from him slowly, opening my eyes as I looked at him with a wide smile.

"I'm falling in love with you too Charmeine. I'm sorry for being jealous." He says and I smiled.

"It doesn't matter now." I said, pulling him close to me again. We were moving backwards before he spins me around and my back was now on the bed, we hadn't even broke away from the kiss yet.

I flipped us over and I pulled away looking at me in awe as he looks up at me, making me lean down for another kiss. His hands wandered all over my body and I smiled into the kiss as I felt his touch all over me.

His hands were under my shirt going up my sides before his hand went to my back. He touched my scars making my eyes go wide, as I felt a memory resurface in my mind.

"They're beautiful, but not as beautiful as you."

"You're a flirt Ryan, you know that." I said, smirking as I turned to face him making him chuckle.

"You need always remind me."

I gasped and I hop off Rafael who gets a shock as I get off him, I frowned a little to myself wondering why the hell that came to me. Before I could think about it more, I felt a hand on me and I looked to see Raf.

"Hey, you okay? I'm sorry if this is all too fast." He apologises quickly and I shake my head.

"Uh, no-no, I'm sorry. I just-my scars, I don't like them." I said, pursing my lips and Rafael looks at me.

"They're beautiful and apart of you. It's nothing you should be ashamed of." Rafael says and I smiled at him looking into his eyes.

"When did you get so smart?"

"This girl I know is some huge know it all and she's really wise." He says and I raised an eyebrow, smirking a little.

"She's smart, you should listen to her."

"She's also quite the smartass." Rafael says making me gasp playfully before slapping his chest making him laugh.

"Whatever." I said, and he laughs before looking at me.

"You know I'm always going to be here for you, no matter what?" He says and I smiled widely.

"I know." I said, leaning in to kiss him softly on the lips.
