Chapter 8: The Great Heatwave

The girls have been waiting for quite a while on the guys.

"I wonder what's taking them so long..." Sophia wondered.

"Yeah, I would've thought the guys would be ready to go before we were," Emma responded.

"We've been waiting for a good hour or so. I think something might be up," Madison said.

Then, a girl with black hair, wearing a fedora, approaches them.

"Have you seen Alex?" She asked them.

"That what we've been wondering, as well as the other guys!" Madison responded.

"Wait a minute... Aren't you Lily, Alex's girlfriend?" Emma asks her.

"That's correct."

"Nice to meet you. I'm Emma, this fairly tall girl to your right is Madison, and this...kind of short Portuguese girl to your left is Sophia."

"Heeeeey!" Sophia was annoyed on how Emma described her as short.

"Nice to meet you!" Madison and Lily shook hands.

"Ok so anyways, I think I might know where all of this started from!" Lily stated.

"Where?" Sophia asked.

"From this science organization called Atomic Ovens! We need to stop them before earth turns into a permanent heatwave!"

Coincidentally, the earth began to shake. Now, the sun was even closer to earth!

"Or perhaps, before we all die from the heatwave!" Lily corrected herself.

"Ugh, does this mean I now have to change into a bikini or something like that?" Sophia complained.

"I think it's better wearing what we have on, otherwise, we'll probably get sunburned!" Madison responded.

"Yeah, good point."

"So what about our other friends? There's no way we can build another giga rocket without them!" Emma stated.

"Hmm...just now thinking about it, they could've gotten kidnapped by them!" Lily suggested.

"Well then, we must head over there!" Madison stated.

Madison, Emma, Sophia, and Lily dashed their way over to town to find the Atomic Ovens organization to hopefully save their friends.

...

"Now what's the status of the weather?" Madelyn asks Lindsey.

"It's now a heatwave..." Lindsey declared.

"AAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!" Logan freaked out even more.

"Cool it, Logan! We must head over to Houston with the rocket as soon as we can!" Madelyn commanded.

"...Fine..." Logan sighed.

They hurried over to the rocket and got inside. It's quite a small rocket, but it's somehow big enough to fit all three of them. They started up the rocket, and soon enough, it launched, at a bit of a slower speed than typical rockets.

"Yeah...this is going to be a while..." Logan sighed.

...

"You are taking this way too far!" Dr. Steve scolded Dr. Barbeque.

"Typical. I had a good feeling you would say that," he smirked.

"I only want to move the earth closer to the sun very slightly! Heck, I wasn't even expecting it to turn into spring! And now, you first changed it to summer, and now, it's a heatwave! I'm not comfortable with that!"

"Hmph! To make you feel happier, I'll move it even closer to the sun! And there's no way you can stop me because there is no self-destruct button and no off switch!"

Then, Dr. Steve pushes Dr. Barbeque away from the machine.

"No one messes around with my ideas!" Dr. Steve shouts as he does that.

"Want to do it that way then? Alright Adam, come at me!"

Dr. Steve and Dr. Barbeque have now started a huge fight.

...

Madison, Sophia, Emma, and Lily have successfully snuck inside of the Atomic Ovens building. They used the signs in the hallways to help guide them to where Henry and the others are supposedly kept. But then, Lily peeked in the next room to see some guards.

"Ok there are two guards, and they seem much stronger than us. However though, there's four of us! If two of us takes out one guard, and the other two take out another one, then we should be good to go," Lily stated in a whisper.

"Good idea!" Sophia whispered back.

"Alright you fiends!" Lily said, approaching the guards.

Madison and Sophia fought one of the guards, while Emma and Lily fought the other one. They eventually destroyed both of them by attacking them from all over the place. Then, they dragged them and stuffed them in a nearby closet. But then...

"Uh-oh! Run!" Emma ordered everyone.

Yup, there were more guards. Four more to be exact. After a bit of running, the hallway was split into four different paths.

"Everyone, split up!" Sophia commanded.

The four of them has split up. One of each of the guards went in one of each path. In Madison's path, she was able to find a trapdoor which had lava underneath it, when she passed it, she pressed the button to open the trapdoor on the guard, and so the guard burnt to a crisp. In Emma's path, she found a room full of explosives, she went inside, ignited them, and then once the guard went in the room, she went out of the room and locked the door on the guard, and the explosives exploded on the guard. In Lily's path, she got into a huge room, that had more guards in it. She was running around to find an exit. Soon enough, she did and escaped the big room. Then, Madison and Emma were able to shut and lock the doors on the guards with a switch.

"Great work!" Lily complemented Madison and Emma.

Finally, in Sophia's path, she ran into a storage room. She looked for things to fight back against the guard, and she found a frying pan. Then, she went behind the guard and whack the guard really hard to put the guard on conscious. Then, Lily, Madison, and Emma entered the room. Madison found some tranquilizers and stabbed the guard with them so the guard can stay down.

"Now, to find the others, for real this time!" Sophia stated.

Nearby, there was a room that said "Scientific Prisons." They assumed that they were there. As they went in, they saw prisons, but instead of the bars there usually is, there is really glass with small holes instead of it. Then, they noticed...

"Henry!" Madison exclaimed.

"Oh, hi girls!" Henry responded.

"Alex!" Lily then exclaims.

"Hey Lily! We could use some help!" Alex stated.

"That's why we're here!"

"Oh, a switch! I wonder what it does!" Sophia runs over to a switch.

There was tripwire right in front of the switch that everyone else noticed the switch except for Sophia.

"Sophia! Wait!" Aidan tried to stop her.

But it was too late. As she stepped on the wire and then switched the switch, the alarm went off, but the glass prisons opened, freeing the guys.

"Come on everyone! Hurry!" Henry said.

"Not so fast!" A scientist said.
