I hadn't heard from Harry that much since he left my house to go clubbing. It made me sad but I also had to remind myself that just like every other adult in the universe, he has his own life too.
Plus, he wasn't even my boyfriend so I couldn't be upset.
That didn't stop me from missing him though.
I sighed, sitting on my couch and running my finger's through Koda's fur. She purred at me and nestled her head into my lap as I continued to scratch behind her ears. I had a day off today, so I was just going to spend it at home watching TV or something. It was my version of self-care.
I relaxed into the couch and was about to turn on the TV when my phone buzzed from beside me. My heart jumped a little at the thought of it potentially being Harry but sank again when I saw that it was just Julia.
Julia: hey darling, can you come to the diner today and pick up a shift? 4:00-8:00pm.
I sighed and bit my lip. As much as I didn't want to, I knew I could use the money.
I replied saying I would be there and I set my phone down. I checked the time and saw that I had enough time to get one movie in before I had to go to work. So I settled on this mystery movie called Murder on the Orient Express. It seemed interesting enough to keep me occupied for about three more hours.

I got to work fifteen minutes early so I decided to hang out in the back until it was time for my shift. Julia came to the back as I was watching Javier cook. We were chatting and I glanced at Julia offering her a smile as she came to hug me and then went to the back office.
"How's that boyfriend of yours?" she asked, coming back outside with a stack of papers. I looked away from Javier and looked at Julia with a confused expression.
"Boyfriend?"
She nodded and I looked over at Javier to find him staring at me with a pointed look and raised eyebrows.
"I don't have a boyfriend," I said looking at the both of them.
"Sure," Julia chuckled, walking out of the kitchen. I followed her.
"I don't!" I laughed, scanning my badge at the front to check in for my shift.
"Then why is that handsome young man sitting over there?" Julia asked, looking over at someone behind me. I frowned and turned around to find Harry sitting at a booth, a cup of coffee in front of him. He looked out at the city and took a sip from his cup every now and then. He wore a dark green hoodie and black sweatpants. He had a black beanie placed next to him and I smiled softly, feeling a blush rising to my cheeks as I turned back to a smirking Julia.
"He's not my boyfriend," I denied, trying to fight a smile, "he's just an old friend."
"An old boyfriend," she teased, poking my side. I shook my head and walked over to Harry. He didn't notice me come up to him so I tapped his shoulder. He looked up at me and smiled softly.
"Hey," he said, getting up.
"Hi," I replied. I noticed him looking around briefly before looking back at me.
"I uh," he began, "I didn't think you were working today."
I rose an eyebrow, "I wasn't. I got called in."
He nodded slowly. We stood there in silence for a minute and I opened my mouth to say something but was interrupted by someone.
"Hello?"
We turned around to find a blonde girl standing there. She had blonde hair and brown eyes and she smiled at me briefly before beaming at Harry.
"Hey Grace," Harry said.
