Trial and Error

Bit of a time jump in this chapter! I just wanna get the ball rolling a little bit haha.

I shot up out of bed when my alarm rang. I turned over and saw my alarm clock blinking and beeping with the numbers 9:30am displayed on it. I yawned as I rolled around in my blankets and snuggled further into the warm and comforting confines of my bed, closing my eyes sleepily as I sighed.

Wait.

My eyes snapped open as I realized what day today was.

It was Wednesday.

The date.

I shot up out of bed and bolted into my bathroom, immediately turning the shower on before brushing my teeth and rinsing my face. Afterwards, I hopped into the shower and cleaned myself up.

While in the shower, I thought about Harry. When he asked me out on the date the last time he was over, he seemed ready. But he also seemed reluctant. I understood that for him to be in a relationship with someone, it meant that he had to risk both his and the other person's safety. But I also knew that I didn't want to be just friends with him.

The last couple of weeks were really confusing. Sometimes I felt like Harry and I were making progress but other times it felt like we were hitting a brick wall.

Two steps forward, one step back is still one step forward, i guess.

After the shower, i wrapped a towel around my body and threw my hair up into a little towel wrap. I walked into my bedroom and looked around in my closet for something to wear. I didn't have plans to go out until tonight for our date so I was going to spend a lazy day at home today.

I picked out a pair of grey sweats and a hoodie, pulling them on before I took the towel out of my hair and ruffled it a bit. I sat down at my vanity and looked in the mirror. I looked gross.

I had bags under my eyes and my nose was a bit red. My cheeks were blushed slightly and there were break outs all over my face. I sighed, pouting slightly before I picked out some of my face care products.

As I was applying a serum to my face, my phone buzzed. I turned around, smiling at the door when I saw Koda sauntering into my room, meowing once before hopping onto my bed. I stood up and pet my cat before grabbing my phone. The screen lit up once I grabbed it and I smiled, seeing a text from Harry on the screen.

Harry: can't wait to see you tonight.x

I bit my lip and sat back down in front of my vanity, opening the text thread and typing in a response.

Me: same here! I'm looking forward to it. Do I have to dress fancy?

Harry: a little bit fancy. But whatever you like is fine. :)

Me: :) I'll see you soon.

Harry:  bye, love.

I blushed and set down my phone, finishing up my skin routine before I decided to grab some breakfast.

I grabbed my phone and walked into the kitchen, setting the phone down on the counter before I walked over to my fridge. I managed to cook up a simple breakfast of scrambled eggs and toast and made my way over to the couch to watch some TV. I was about to sit down until a knock sounded at the door and made me turn around, eyeing it.

I felt myself frown when I noticed a shadow outside the door, through the slit at the bottom, signifying someone standing outside. I slowly set my food down on the coffee table and apprehensively made my way towards the door.
