"Are you ok?"
"You good, buddy?"
"What's wrong"I mean do those phrases have any meaning anymore?
It's no different than talking to an automatic voice messageWhat happened to being genuine?
I think it's crazy how we live in a society where everyone promotes self care and shit like that but nobody is really there for each other.
No one wants to take the further step after:"Yeah, I'm fine."
What is fine? Are you fine as in it couldn't be better or I'm doing well enough survive? Most of us don't go further than that because nobody wants to hold that weight or responsibility. I'd be lying if I didn't often feel that way but it's an act of selfishness.
Everyone says they're going through something so they can't deal with other people's problems. But if that's the case, what is it? I bet the first response will be, "I don't want to talk".
I understand this is a defense mechanism to protect yourself from being exposed, but from what exactly? What's the worst that can happen?
