I shuffled through my spacious bathroom with a fortuitous pep in my step. I danced and sung along to Milkshake by Kelis as I got dressed for the day. Today was the day I was gonna have a one on one with Jordan to deliver the good news.

Adding an extra dash of happiness to my exceptional mood, this week I did things differently. Since my conversation with my friends in New York and at girls night, I realized I lost sight of my core values as a mom and parent in general. I never wanted to be that parent that put her job over her kids, or tried to buy their love.

So I cleared out my schedule as much as I could to just be a mom in order to free up time for Kieran to focus on building a case that would free my family if god willing the case is reopened. It was rewarding being able to make breakfast for all the kids, make their lunch and have a home cooked meal prepared once I picked them up from school.

I even gave Pilar a week off. Though her run-in with Tika was awkward, it wasn't enough to fire her seeing as the twins and Kross were learning at an accelerated pace and I didn't want to stop that.

And as much help as my brother and Dezmond have been, and doing it so selflessly, I know this break has been much appreciated.

"Alright! Time to see my man."

I grabbed my ziplock bag full of quarters after checking my outfit in the full body mirror in my bedroom making sure it was within the prison's dress code before heading downstairs. I grabbed the keys to my baby blue rolls my husband gifted me years ago, that I just couldn't seem to part with once I moved here since it reminded me of simpler times.

After sitting in nearly two ours of dreadful California traffic, I finally arrived at the heavily fortified building in which my husband resides in.

I did the customary procedure of signing in at the front desk before having to remove my belt, keys and cellphone which I would get on my way out. I walked through the scanner with no problem and the lovely female officer gave me my bag of coins.

Before heading into the visiting area I used the restroom and washed my hands.

Upon entering the visitation room I heard the familiar loud chuckles of none other than Lucky filled my ears and I smiled small. He always found a way to have a visitor the same time I would come. And as much as Jordan complains he adores his prison homeboy cause if he didn't he wouldn't tell him when I was coming.

"There she is! There go my fineass baby mama. What's up Gee!?" He exclaimed getting up to hug me.

"Hey Lucky! I'm fine. How have you been?" I said embracing.

"I'm good now that I see yo beautiful face." He cheesed completely ignoring the cute girl with braids. She reminded me of Janet Jackson in Poetic Justice.
