Two months had passed since the brutal crash that landed Jordan and Giselle's kids in the ICU, including Mama Jeanine. With the help of California's best physical therapist, the twins were now mobile slowly but surely getting around the house, not letting anything stop them from playtime.
Bakari however was still on bed rest and taking pain medication for his chronic neck and back pains. His parents cried for him nightly as it pained them to see their child this way. Crying because he couldn't get comfortable in bed due to his injuries or the fact that he couldn't do anything besides lay and watch television or go anywhere besides his bedroom and the doctors office.
Thankfully that only lasted a month and his casts were able to come off. The pain in his neck and back were still there which kept him from being able to move as freely as a four year old should.
As for Jeanine, things weren't so simple for her considering she took the brunt of the crash. Just when they were in the clear, Jeanine had slipped back into a coma. This in and out repetitiveness continued for at least another week after she first woke up.
By the time the next week rolled around, she was taken off her ventilator.
It brought Jordan and the rest of the family to tears watching his mother being wheeled out the hospital. Especially when his own father, the person he believed to be the strongest man on earth break down himself.
His mother who was the vibrant socialite of her friend group, had withered away. Her silky black tresses, were now dry and grey. Her hands soft and smooth hands that he believed could heal the sick, were now rough and callused.
And that smile...Oh! That smile, that could brighten the darkest of nights....was gone!
But that was then......Now back in her hometown in the home she lived in for over twenty years just fifteen minutes from the famous Cascade skating ring, she was now being waited on hand and foot by her husband, whom complained not once at her demands. Though she would need a cane to get around for some time, she found solace in knowing she and her grandchildren were alive.
"Alright cousin! The movers are here, I told them to start with the boxes upstairs." Kieran said as he pulled his sweaty black wife beater from his skin as it stuck to him due the LA heat.
Giselle smiled. "Thank you KJ!"
"I can't believe you guys are actually moving." Kieran said shaking his head.
"And I can't believe you're staying...with Nefi of all people." Giselle added with a giggle.
Now that the kids were better, Jordan and a Giselle decided that it was time they return to Atlanta. They were going wait till August, but considering they were going back for Giselle's parents annual Fourth of July bash at the Howard Plantation they decided to stay for good.
