Chapter 2:

It was a couple hours later Jay was sitting on a green chair in a hospital room as Sophia laid soundly asleep in her bed. He was looking more into Rebeccas lawyer he seemed high class for being a lawyer, he was pulled out of his thought when there was a knock on the door. " I came in to see how she's doing," Erin said grabbing the clipboard. He sat in the chair silent not hearing what she said not a single word until she said his name a little louder he snapped back. " Jay," she Called shaking his shoulder. " Sorry Just got a lot going what's the latest," Jay asked looking at his daughter who was now awake. " The fluid is gone her stiches look good she'll be discharged in the morning," Erin said," I know your a police officer I can stay with her so you can leave." " No I need to stay Rebecca can not lay a finger on her," Jay said. " Ok tough guy."  A couple days passed Sophia was now home and Jay was finally meeting with his lawyer the night before the trial over dinner. " Hello Jay," Henry said. " Hello Henry this is Sophia," Jay said. " Hello pretty girl we are gonna make sure your daddy gets to keep you ok," Henry said. They sat down and ordered some drinks. " So based on you evidence you have presented you have a very good chance at getting full custody along with the witnesses all Rebecca has is her word no hard core evidence," Henry said. " My chances are good," Jay asked? " Yes they are very good." That's what Jay needed to hear to bring a smile to his face even Sophia was happy and clapping her hands. They ordered their food and talked more about the trial. " Be at the court house at 8:30 am sharp trail starts at 9 we will have Will on the jury on Your behave." " Sophia is gonna be with my mom and dad in the back she doesn't need to be around all the yelling that's probably gonna happen even though she might be able to still here it," Jay said. " Jay I'm gonna do everything in my power to make sure you walk away with your daughter but typically the judge will want the child to go home with their other parent until the the day of the next trial it's actually something that's recommended I just wanted to give you the heads up." " Thanks I would just never forgive myself if something happened to her she's my baby," Jay said staring at Sophia as she slept peacefully in his arms. They finished dinner and went home. He got Sophia and bath and in her pajamas. While feeding her a bottle he said this to her," Sophia no matter what happens tomorrow you will always be my baby girl and I will always love you till death do us part, I will fight for you do anything to keep you safe you just stay strong no matter what I love you Sophia and always will." A tear felt down his cheek the fact of maybe loosing his baby made his heart hurt. He cuddled her for a little bit before placing a kiss on his head and joining Will in the living room. " Here you look like you need a drink," Will said handing him a beer. He told him about what he and Henry had talked about. Tears were shed and brotherly love was showed. " We will get through this I promise," Will said," To Sophia." They clinked their beers together and watched a football game to take their minds off of it.
