Chapter 3:

It's was the day of the court hearing Jay hasn't slept at all that night knowing today could be the last day he spends with with baby girl. The pair got up super early to get ready and make it to the court house on time for the hearing. Arriving at the court house Jay had Sophia asleep in his arms while standing talk to his lawyer before the trail starts. " Order of the court," The judge yelled! Everybody took their seats as the trail began. It began with Rebeccas lawyer talking first. " Your honor my client here knows what she did to Sophia was bad she was in a mentally unstable place at the time she is in rehab and going to a therapist she just wants to be apart of her daughters life with Mr. Halstead if anybody has a good heart here they would agree with me." " Your honor Rebecca stabbed her 6 month old daughter with a beer bottle left scars and several bruises and Mr. Halstead Rebecca has had a history of drug abuse just a couple months ago she got popped but was let off with a warning when she was 21 arrest spent 6 months in lock up Rebecca left Mr. Halstead and Sophia a mother left her daughter tell me in whos right mind would do that," Henry said. Everybody was now arguing but everything changed with one topic. Jays past. " Mr. Halstead is it true your brother robbed a restaurant when he was about 12 years old," Mrs. Heather asked? " Yes," Will replied. " Tell me your brother also killed an innocent girl what makes you think he won't do it to his own daughter." " My brother was shooting at the killer his bullet missed the guy and went through a wall he did not mean to kill her." Wills blood was boiling as well as Jays. He knew his past wasn't good but he has changed a whole lot. " Mr. Halstead has killed a lot of people and some a lot of bad things your honor I proving Jay Halstead is not a good father for Sophia," Heather said. Jay glared at her and that's when he started talking for himself. " Sophia is the most important thing to me Rebecca couldn't care less about her I was there when Sophia needed me most where was Rebecca our at some club drunk out of her mind I can't count how many times I've had to drive her home as she is just slammed she drank while pregnant with Sophia almost killed her unborn daughter her drinking and drugs was why she was born early Rebecca is unstable and not a safe person," Jay said. He was heated he would do anything in his power to protect his little girl and make sure he walked home with her in the end. " Mr. Halstead who do you have to say this is true what evidence do you have," The judge asked? " Yeah Jay Wheres your evidence," Rebecca asked in a sassy tone. Then the door to the court room open and a person walked through. " I have your evidence."
