We were all having a great time, the mood of the room constantly swelling. Servers came around offering glasses of champagne and shots of liquor. Colby and I both declined.

Didn't need it. I think we were both just getting high off of life at the moment, as cheesy as that sounds. The song changed to something slower that I automatically recognized.

It was one of my favorites. I never really related to the lyrics though. Didn't understand how you could feel that way about someone. Until now.

As Ed Sheeran's voice filled the room, I looked up and met Colby's eyes. He had a soft smile on his face, looking down at me, as his hands tightened on my waist. This was my happy place.

Right here with him. Didn't matter where we were, as long as we were together. We could fight whatever life threw at us.

We had already proven that.

"I love you Chloe. Till the End of time."

My heart felt like it was about to explode as the tears sprang to my eyes. I couldn't breathe but it was a good thing. My chest hurt from the amount of love that was swelling up inside of me.

There was no way that I would ever be able to live without this man.

"I love you Colby. More than anyone or anything this world has to offer me. It's always you."

He grinned and leaned down to kiss me, pressing his soft lips against mine, before leaning back up.

"I will not give you up, this tiiiiiiime. Darling just kiss me slow, your heart is all I own, and in your eyes you're holding mine." He started singing to me.

Colby Brock, the former bad ass leader of the largest vampire clan in LA, now current Council Member, just started fucking singing Ed Sheeran's Perfect to me. I might pass out. I didn't know that he could sing like that.

His voice was deep, and flowed out smoothly, like melted butter. I stopped breathing, moving only on autopilot, his hands guiding me as he lead the dance. I couldn't look away from his face.

From his eyes, back down to his lips where that magical voice was escaping.

"When you said you looked a mess," His hand moved from my waist to my forehead, pushing back a tendril of hair. "I whispered underneath my breath, but you heard it, darling you look perfect...tonight."

I know that my face flushed but there was no way to stop that. I drew in a shaky breath, giving my burning lungs what they desperately needed.

How does he make me forget how to breathe? This had to be one of the most romantic, sweetest things he had ever done. He just keeps surprising me.

My hands being around his neck made it easier to bury into the hair at the back of his neck. I pulled him down towards me, my lips searching for his, pressing against them eagerly. I was craving him...but not his blood, not even sex.

Well, maybe sex, but that wasn't what was on my mind right then. I just needed to feel him, get close to him, try to express what I wasn't sure that I could put into words. As my hands tightened in his hair, his hands gripped my hips, his fingers brushing against the bare skin of my thigh as I shifted, standing on my tip toes.

He dug them in, like he was trying to get closer, as our lips and tongue communicated what we were feeling. The music died out, the chatter of the other vamps in the room, everything. It was just Colby and I, in our own little universe.

Nothing else mattered. I was trying to breathe from my nose, but I reluctantly had to pull away, gasping for air. His own breathing was heavy as he stared at me intensely.

"You guys might wanna chill. I mean, I'm sure there are plenty of us that wouldn't mind a show...but I'm just saying. You know how hard it is to stop, once you start." This came from Jake who had danced by Tara.

She winked at me and giggled.

"Damn girl, looking a little red there. Colby gettin' you riled up huh?"

I flushed even more, and fixed my dress, which Colby had pulled up just a little, almost revealing my underwear where the split of the dress was. Colby didn't say anything. He looked at them for a second then took a few steps to the side, towards Sam.

He and Kat were laughing, as Sam swung her out, then pulled her back to him. My best friend had a huge smile on her face, showing just how happy and in love she was. I bit my lip, and smiled, watching her.

Colby tapped Sam on the shoulder, getting his attention.

Sam looked at him, but never stopped dancing with Kat.

"Yeah, what's up brother?"

"When can we leave?" Colby asked.

"Whenever we want, I guess. Go ask Victoria." Sam replied.

Colby nodded, then I watched him walk towards Victoria. Couldn't hear what he said, but I assumed it was the same thing. She looked my way and gave me a knowing smile.

What the fuck did he say to her? She smiled back at him, then leaned over into Edmond, nodding. He nodded, then walked back to me, his gaze focused and intense, holding mine.

I couldn't breathe again.

When he reached me, he just wrapped one arm around my waist, and pulled me to his side, leading me towards Sam and Kat.

"Hey, we're gonna go. You guys stay, have fun. The only thing left is inducting the Guard and I don't have to be here for that. I'm supposed to be but she said that you could stand in for me. That cool?"

Sam was in the middle of spinning Kat out again, and bringing her back to his chest, both arms wrapped around her as they swayed to the music. He grinned at Colby.

"Yeah Bro, why in such a rush to leave?" Sam cut his eyes to me then back to Colby, wagging his eyebrows. "Want the house to yourself huh?"

"Shut up." Colby growled.
