"Right. I don't think I'll be coming home tonight," I state plainly, adjusting my tie.
"Can you give me a reason? I can't just let my nephew say he's not coming home without a reason!" she replies while digging around a makeup bag in the background.
"There's something I want to talk about with (Y/n)... I heard something concerning today, so I just want to ask a few things," I say into the phone, looking at the sunset outside the park.
"Is that true? What's wrong with
(Y/n)-Chan?"
"Just something about her past, hopefully. I hope to clear this obstacle in our relationship."
"Oh, alright. Maybe you should take her here so she can talk to an adult woman as well?"
I pause. She's right, maybe (Y/n) needs to talk to someone she can relate to more? But... does that even matter for demons? The differences already seem extreme.
"No, I think I can handle it. Thank you for the offer though..."
"Anything, Seiya. (Y/n) seems to make you happier, so I'll do anything to help you two be happy."
     "Thank you, good night."
"Right, call me first thing in the morning."
     "Alright."

Closing my phone, I take a deep breath. Its better if (Y/n) and I deal with this now, right? I should know who she is, and about her past if we want to get more serious... Even if that's not enough of a reason, I'm the general manager, and
(Y/n) works for me. I should know these type of things, especially since (Y/n)'s an extreme case.

I walk into the castle and towards
(Y/n)'s room. The walk should be enough time to prepare myself. I need to ask her about her past, and how it affects her. Even if she doesn't tell me the latter, I can piece it together.

A distant 'fumo' reaches my ears, causing me to leave my thoughts. Moffle? Another fumo. He must be nearby, but (Y/n)'s room is right there! I'll need to break for it, I can't spend time arguing with Moffle since (Y/n)'s going to school soon.

I grasp the door handle and slowly open the door, peeking inside. (Y/n) sat on her bed, reading a book intently. Her (e/c) eyes glance at me, and she lets out a hum while tilting her head. She didn't have a single light on in her room, but the sunset provided ample lighting. Hues and shades of purple, orange, pink, and blue danced around her figure, enamoring me more.

I scratch the back of my neck and left eye contact out of question, "Are you doing anything tonight?"
"Tonight?" she repeats, unsure of my intentions.
I cleared my throat, "I want to ask you a few things, if you're okay with it?"
"Oh, um, sure," she closes her book and sets it on the nightstand, "Lock the door, it's getting quite late..," she mutters, looking out the window.
I nod and follow the simple instruction. I sat myself on the other side of the bed to untie my shoes.

(Y/n) held her hands together above her lap. I don't think I've seen her wear only white before, but she pulls it off...
"So, what do you want to ask me?"
"Well, before that. Don't you have to go to school?"
"Yes, but it wouldn't hurt me if I miss a day."
I nod, "Alright then... I'll get to the point. Today I heard Moffle talk about your past, and I want to know more. I'm asking you out of concern, and I might need to know about it for our relationship and for the park."
"Hm..," she nods, "Shall I start from the beginning?"
"If you would."

"Well..," she looked up at the ceiling, "My life began after I was born in the Akumaeo Castle. Akumaeo was and is the strongest kingdom in the magic world. My parents... well I have no idea what their names were, or if they even had names. I never interacted with them. I'm not sure if I even was begotten or artificially created. I had a servant who changed forms often, and I would only hear from my parents secondhand."
"R-really?"
She nods and continues, "Everyday since my birth I trained my body and magic. I hardly learned anything intellectual, and was more or less a weapon for Akumaeo. It was a lot, but I didn't feel any pain or exhaustion from my lifestyle. It's probably for the best that I didn't have emotions back then."
I ponder her words. Is that the case now? If not, did the people here at the park worked her out of it?
"All Akumaeo did was conquer. Their armies killed anyone and anything that stood in their way. Not that it mattered whether or not a population defies them; Akumaeo would replace populations while bluntly stating demons would fill their places more efficiently. Every other population looked at Akumaeo in disgust, but absolutely could do nothing about it. That was, until a demon felt a change was needed to be implemented into the world.
A demon with emotion is labeled as one carrying a disease, and are outcasted by the rest of the population. Usually there's not much they ever accomplish, but this demon changed the entire magic world. He started a rebellion with other 'ill' demons, as well as practically every other country in the world. Through his own forces, he beheaded my parents with magical techniques refined by other countries in secret. He reformed Akumaeo, changing the way it operated entirely.
Currently, Akumaeo works with many countries. Though, there are people who don't know or believe that the rebellion happened, hence why they're still scared of every demon they encounter. The boy who queued the rebellion spared and saved his sister—which was me."
"Not going to lie, I kind of expected that."
With a giggle she makes eye contact, "Yeah... my brother always had emotions. He kept them secret since he knew he'd be killed if our servants or parents found out. Since he had emotions, he sympathized with all the families and people he ruined. He felt the need to stop, and to dethrone our parents. So he did... and he also spared me. When I saw him after the beheading, I didn't do anything. I just stood in place, knowing I'd be next. Even though I had a chance against my brother, I didn't take it. Something told me it really just be like that. But of course, he couldn't kill his own sister. At the time, he truly believed he'd done much worse in his own life than I did in mine. He was right. I hadn't taken a step outside the castle until that day. From that point on everything became a first for me," she sighed and looked at me, "This must really sound like an eerie fairytale to you, ne?"
"Well, I mean, yeah. Everything since I first visited Amagi has been something of a fairy tale."
