Chapter 51: Ice Tea Party & The Gauntlet

The Electric conduits return back to the Rail Yard on a rumor that the ice men and Militia were having another battle over something, again. Really, it's not surprising that they fight. The spotted a woman waving at them and they ran up to her. "the Ice gang took over a bunch of Militia supply boats. Now the Militia's trying to sink their own supplies! I know you want a piece of this!" she informs them.

They nodded at her and took off running. They ran to the edge of the yard and took out the icemen, knocking them off the boat and cars and into the water, then Cole fires into the water, killing them. "One group down." she states then climb up on top of the car and looks out at the Militia boat as it was firing off grenades, "One more to go." she states then jumps over the gap, landing on the house then jumps towards the boat, glides over the water and lands on the boat and the Militiamen turn to her. They aim their weapons at her.

But she acted faster and fired rockets at the Militia, killing them and the impact of her rockets tore the boat up and it began to sink, she jumps off and glides back to dry land then she ran back and glides over the water again and lands on the ship. Cole looks at her and he nods at her.

Then Cole jumps onto the other ship and started throwing the supplies off the boat as Cassie did the same on the boat she landed on. Once the last of the supplies were gone they both jumped back to the land and look out at their handy work. "We did good, Cassie. We did good," he states, she smiles at him and high-five him.

Returning to the Gas Works, the two split up and began cleaning up the mess Bertrand left, disarming bombs, stopping muggings and collected whatever Blast Shards they could find. Cassie managed to even find some of the dead drops Wolfe left out for them.

Then they returned to a station and they both sat down, "I found a good amount of the dead drops and they might even fill in the blanks." she informs him, he nods at her and she pulls out her phone and presses play

"Wolfe's been working on new ways to boost a Conduit's power. The results are encouraging, but now they need to be tested. John, can you convince MacGrath and O'Connell to come to New Marais?"

"No, it's not the right time."

"John, please, it's the perfect time. What if the Beast shows up? You've said it yourself. MacGrath and is not ready, let's make sure they are."

"Not yet. Look, I'm working with Cole and Cassandra to track down the Ray Sphere. The supersedes everything else. For all we know, the Ray Sphere could be the catalyst that creates the Beast."

The recording ended and Cassie looks at Cole, "That was before we lost John to the Ray Sphere." she states, Cole nods at her and he jesters for her to continue on. She nods and presses play.
