CHAPTER SIX
look at how my tears ricochet▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃
𝐖hen Jason uttered the name with that fearsome look that washed over his face━Aurora had a feeling they were about to get into a really bad situation. The new Titans didn't know about the most dangerous threat out of everybody they'd come across. This one was different. Aurora knew. Something was about to shake the whole building and they were not ready for what was about to come.
The fact that most of them were far from each other didn't help. Their separation was not helping them with whatever they were going to face. Unity was what they needed the most at this time, but nobody wanted anybody to be tangled in some shit that the older people has started in the first place.
"That's Rose's father?" Rachel asked after they told the whole team━basically just Rachel and Dick━about what they found.
"Yep." Jason had his arms crossed. "The one and only Deathstroke."
"Is that somebody you know?" The younger girl asked the former detective who was acting unusually quiet for some reason.
"Kind of," He said shortly. "Old Titans business."
Aurora stood beside Jason, constantly nibbling on her chapped lips as they watched Gar continue to search for something about Rose's father on the TV screen panels. She has a very bad feeling about the whole thing, but she couldn't figure out what exactly just yet. There was just too much going on at the same time it was hard to keep track.
"Check it," Gar muttered before reading the information on the small screen. "Former Delta Force commando, part of H.I.V.E. Select soldiers who underwent a series of experimental bio-enhancements."
"That doesn't sound good," Aurora mumbled.
"Huh." Gar furrowed his brows. "Out of the 35 trial subjects, the only one to survive was Slade Wilson. INTERPOL says he retired years ago after the death of his son, Jericho."
From her peripheral vision, she noticed the conflicted look that briefly flashed on Dick's face as he glanced down at the mention of Slade Wilson's son. She swore she also felt something like regret and sadness from him. It wasn't too much unlike Rachel since her abilities were kind of going crazy at this point. Hopefully, that doesn't include her own mind going the same thing.
"I tried having the computer find━"
"I'll take it from here."
Gar was cut off by the sort-of leader of the team, the others watching him with furrowed brows (mostly Jason being suspicious) as Dick stepped forward and pressed a few keys on the keyboard. All the screens shut down and he turned back to face them. Aurora shared a look with Jason and Rachel, feeling confused by how he was acting.
They didn't have much time to ponder, when suddenly, the sound of the alarm started going off with the automatic female voice, saying that someone or something was at the main entrance. Dick pulled up the camera from downstairs, only to find three familiar faces of his old teammates looking up at the camera by the elevator.
"So I guess you changed the code." Donna raised a brow at them through the camera. Most of them felt relieved at the sound of her voice and the sight of the grown woman who had once saved their lives.
