Your POV

I brushed my hand down the soft, silky fabric of my dress. Smoothening out the visible creases, my fingers then proceeded to tap on the cold gold metal of the throne that I was sitting on.

My gaze shifted over to the man standing on my right, Levi. His stoic features engraved onto his face as his steel grey eyes seem to pierce oblivion. His ivory black hair falling over his eyes.

"Hey Levi, why do you always look so angry? Loosen up a little" I said, twirling a strand of (h/c) hair around my finger

"I'm not angry, I'm just being alert. So keep that shitty mouth of yours shut"

I simply rolled my eyes at his reply. I had been used to his disrespectful nature, only because I know that he has good intentions. He has been my personal guard for awhile now and his abilities are nothing short of extraordinary.

Well it's not like I needed anyone to protect me, trust me I'm able to defend myself just as well.

My eyes shifted around the empty throne room. I let out a sigh of slight frustration and exhaustion. Being a ruler of a kingdom isn't easy.

The doors of the throne room swung open and I could see Levi tense up slightly, before returning to his usual posture. A guard carrying a letter wrapped in a red ribbon entered, bowing deeply before presenting the letter to me.

"It's a letter from the king of our ally kingdom, King Erwin."

After dismissing the guard, I opened the letter and briefly read it's contents.

I let out another sigh of frustration as I rolled up the letter. I turned to look at the guard beside me, meeting the steel grey eyes of the one and only, Levi. He raised an eyebrow at my act of frustration.

"Erwin wants me to attend the party that he'll be throwing this weekend"

With all the royalty there, there's bound to be some danger lurking. Not to mention, it'll be rude and disrespectful to reject such an invitation. Levi seemed to understand my frustration and leaned forward into a half-bow, placing his hand over his heart

"It is my duty to keep you safe at all times, you needn't worry about anything else other than the party."

My eyes widened at the shocking act of loyalty demonstrated by my guard. I smiled gently. It seems like I'm bound to a loyal man.

"Impressive, you never fail to amaze me."

He looked up. And it seemed like eternity when our eyes met but I broke it by coughing gently. It seemed like he was caught up in the moment too. How odd.

"Thank you, your highness"

Honestly, I loved this side of him. Unlike his usual mean and cold demeanor, this side of him was a lot more genuine and sincere. I liked that from him.

Soon enough it was time for both of us to retire.

It was the afternoon of the party and I was getting ready. The maids have chosen a stunning navy blue dress that complemented my assets perfectly, hugging around my waist. The soft yet expensive material of the dress was simply amazing.

It took awhile more for me to get my hair done and curled into an elaborate bun which, in my opinion, was absolutely gorgeous. (This was what I wore for my prom so :D)
