You are a witch. A great one at that. You met the boys on a hunt and ended up saving them. It took a while for them to trust you, but after some time you became family.
Both Winchesters needed help finding a witch. Apparently they were killing men who were handing something from loved ones. They were also using a camouflage spell. Keeping them hidden. You came down to help. But the spell was to strong. So everyone spilt into teams. Dean and Sam, Bobby and Jo, you and Ellen.
However the failed to mention that you were a witch to there friends. You-not knowing this- talked about maybe using a spell to help. That was not something you should have done.
