Chapter Two
The night was cold, the air crisp and fresh, I loved nights like these, I like to go for walks, clear my head and it was a lot safer here, compared to where I used to live. Tramps down almost every alleyway, down in their luck and stuck in the gutter.
Here it was quiet.
It was...Nice.
I made my way through the silent streets, the dead streets. You could even hear crickets in the distance it was weird, amazing and soothing.
I walked down a small dirt track road that lead to a massive field, trees loomed threateningly above me, the full moon peeking through the branches, trying to provide light for my weak human eyes, guiding me, helping me. I wrapped my coat tighter around me as a cold wind blew aggressively in my direction, and began hugging myself to conserve the warmth. The track was about 100 metres long, a five minute walk, there was something in the back of my head, almost screaming at me to stop, to turn around, but I couldn't my feet would not listen to my brain, and kept going, one foot in front of the other, my mind still screaming at me to go home, go to bed and forget, but the clearing was enchanting, the trees beautiful, and the way the moon was guiding me, it was all just so...Majestic.
I reached the meadow, it was lit up due to the light from the moon. I waded through the grass, feeling it tickle my stomach as it was as tall as my waist. I felt hypnotised, as if some force was pushing me forward and I had no say over what was happening, I no longer tried to fight it, I let it pass through me, over me and with me. It was deathly quiet here, I no longer had a crickets accompaniment now, I was alone. Almost.
I screamed as brightness filled my vision and a force pushed me off my feet and caused me to fly backwards through the air landing flat on my back, mud drenched my jeans, I gasped trying to adjust to the brightness. What the fuck had just happened?! I grasped hold of the thick tall grass, and choked on a scream as the thick blades wrapped themselves around my wrists and ankles. I could feel them pushing against my back, lifting me up, above the cage of grass, I still restrained, but at least I could see what was happening. My eyes widened as I saw the full extent of what was happening in the clearing. Oh God please let this be a dream, I thought to myself, letting out a gargled sob.
