The stranger walked Frank all the way home before Frank thought to ask him his name, or even thank him. He had just saved his life after all, the man deserved a hand shake at least. On the thought of hands, he realized that the stranger had been holding his since he grabbed it to begin with and immediately let go. Frank turned to the stranger and took in his face. He had bright yellow hair ( hair that you’d think wouldn’t look good on anyone, but Frank thought it looked so very pleasant on this unfamiliar man), hazel eyes which looked green when the light hit them, and a cleanly shaved face which took every precaution in concealing his age.On top of his unorthodoxically attractive appearance, the stranger had a calming presence which drew Frank in and made him feel safe.

The stranger spoke, tearing Frank from his thoughts, in which he was fully submerged.

“The nurse said you’d be fine, but you still seem addled, are you sure you’re alright.”

Frank swallowed and nodded, the genuine concern in the stranger’s voice making everything slightly more surreal. The stranger nodded in return and smiled. Oh lord, maybe they had just met, but Frank was absolutely certain he would move heaven and earth for this beautiful human being in front of him.

“Alright, goodnight then, and be more careful.”

With that the stranger turned and began walking away. Frank felt panic rise up in him and he strained for a way to keep the man from leaving, urging his voice to wake from it’s frozen state inside of him.

“W-what’s your name?”

The stranger half turned and stopped.

“My name’s Gerard.” He answered with a small nod.

Fank absorbed the name into his mind and then remembering everything that had happened to him he raised his hand to his chest.

“Thank you so much Gerard.” he said, earning another breathtaking smile from Gerard.

“Don’t mention it, I’m just glad I got there in time. Goodnight Frank.”

His sentence did not sit well with Frank, but he wasn’t sure why, so he smiled and waved goodbye to his unorthodox hero. But as he watched Gerard walk away he realized why what Gerard said had been odd to him. Frank hadn’t told him his name.

When I have my dreams, sometimes I get a date. It’s a sudden knowledge as I wake up and  I think it’s quite unpleasant to just know something. I’ve had more dreams about the beautiful man and the only knowledge I’ve gained about him is a date;  7-28-12..

Frank jolted to the preset with the realization that that was yesterday’s date. Perhaps somewhere in the world that night something important had happened. Frank rifled through the remaining days, scanning for that date, but if there was another mention of it Frank didn’t see it.

Just then a knock came at the door. Frank glanced at his phone. Nobody ever visited him. He pushed himself off of his bed and went to the door. He peeked out the door to find to his surprise that the strange man named Theo from the prior week had been standing there. Frank debated on pretending to not be home, but went against his better judgement and opened the door.

He found it creepy that he had somehow found his address, but it could be a coincidence, right? It was definitely not a coincidence, however, because as soon as Frank opened door the man stuck his foot in the small distance from the door and the frame.

“Where is the journal Frank?”
