"Excuse me? H-how did you get my number?" I ask, confused.
"That's another story to tell. I just wanted to get to know you." Alex dodges the question.
"At least ask for my number." I demand while fiddling with my hair.
"Yeah, well I-"
Alex is cut off mid-sentence before my 2 sisters barge in my room, fighting. I flick my head to my bedroom door in shock, mad at my sisters for disturbing my call.
"Alex, I can't talk right now, okay? I have to go." I hurriedly say and cut the line before he could answer me.
I drop my phone on my duvet and stand up to give my sisters a piece of my mind, realizing they're fighting over a slice of pie. Weird enough, my mom isn't doing anything about it.
"Are you serious? You storm in my room like this to fight over a piece of pie? Kaylee and Jaylyn, you two need to grow up." I angrily state.
"It was my slice of pie, but then this beast decided to take what was mine! I refuse! I'm older than her any ways. I should get the last piece." Kaylee says trying to win over the pie.
"First of all, you're only 13, which is only 2 years older than me, so you should get off of your stupid high horse! It's mine!" Jaylyn lets go of the pie and it messes all over my carpet. Before I knew it, Kaylee's hand was in Jaylyn's face and they were fighting. I stepped between the two of them and stopped the fight before anything else could happen.
"What the hell is wrong with you two? First you come in my room and disturb my phone call, then you mess on my favourite carpet, then I have to stop the two of you from killing each other. You need to give me my personal space! You can't come to me every time you have problems! I'm sick and tired of you two fighting all the time. And, incase you were gonna ask, yes I'm still angry. Apologize."
Don't get me wrong. Having 5 sisters can be amazing, but it can also be extremely painful, especially all the younger ones fighting over dumb things. It gets too much at a point.
"I'm sorry." My sisters apologize at the same time.
"Now get out." I demand, fumed.
Jaylyn and Kaylee quickly leave the room, silently while I lay back on my bed, procrastinating the mess on my carpet. After about 10 minutes, I pick my carpet up and take it downstairs for our maid to clean. I then come across my mom, hoping she wouldn't talk to me about school or what just happened.
"Hey honey. How was your first day of school?" My mom asks while spicing the chicken.
"It was good mom, thanks." I reply hoping the conversation will end.
"That's great honey! I'm happy. Have you had anything to eat yet?" My mom questions.
It's weird that she never asked me about what happened at school. Knowing her, she would spark up a whole conversation about my day, but I didn't think too much about it.
"No not yet, but I see you're busy with dinner already so I can wait like 2 hours for dinner. I can take a nap so long."
"Okay honey, go get some rest." She sweetly instructs me.
Although I am weirded out by my moms sudden attitude, I go upstairs and collapse on my bed, immediately falling asleep. After what felt like 5 seconds, I am awakened by a very sorry Jaylyn, telling me to come downstairs to eat dinner.
The dinner table is set with yellow and white decorations. A white plate mat on top of a white and yellow table cloth. Chicken and a green salad lies on the table, and I was completely starving, more than ready to dive in.
