Chapter 16.
"Yes. Go!Strike is officially under our company."
Flashes of cameras where everywhere. Although this conference was for the company, it mostly focused on the model that was sitting beside the President.
This may be the second time that Hikaru had all the attention on him, yet he still couldn't help but feel his stomach hurl out what he ate earlier.
"Ms. Fujiwara, why isn't your companion present for this conference. He is the one who programmed the game." Ask one of the reporters.
Hikaru brought the mic infront of him closer.
"I am attending as his proxy. He is unable to attend for personal reasons."
"What are your thoughts about the game Ms. Fujiwara?" Asks another reporter.
"I have already mentioned what my opinion is from the go convention last year, and again, I respect my companion who have put tremendous efforts for what he loves."
"Rumours is that, this companion of yours is also the same age as you?"
The directors eyed Hikaru. Although it didn't show in their expressions, they were worried if he found the question to personal.
Hikaru already made his appearance in the meijins salon, so it wouldn't be a problem if he were to say it was true.
"Yes. He is."
"Would that be the reason why he decided to hand over the game?"
The president, Mr. Yamaguchi replied to the question.
"Yes. Although we are now the ones handling the game, it is still him who originally owns it. We've discussed about this and decided to officially announce this news from the start of the school year. Because he is still attending school, he needed to take action and decided it was best for us to take handle over the game while he attend to his studies."
Hikaru felt relieved that he wasn't alone and that not all the questions were directed to him.
After the conference, he bowed and shook hands at the invited guests. He would also pose for the cameras along with the head of the company.
Needless to say, Hikaru was tired.
He was invited for dinner. It was tempting, but Hikaru didn't want to stay in his attire any longer so he declined.
Hikaru bought some bandaids before heading to the train station when suddenly, he received a phone call from Touya-sensei.
'Why of all time?!' Hikaru looks at the caller irritated.
"What's wrong Hikaru?" Sai asks as he immediately becomes concerned.
Sai glanced at the caller ID and beamed.
"Answer it Hikaru!" Sai exclaims as he looks at Hikaru with puppy eyes.
Hikaru wanted to decline but he felt that it would be disrespectful and it may make Touya-sensei think that 'Sai' was ill mannered and not want to play with him anymore.
Hikaru gave up and answered the call.
"Good evening Touya-sensei."
"Good evening Sai. Excuse me with the sudden call, but my wife was hoping if youd like to join us for dinner as a celebration for Akira in enrolling in Kaiou."
Hikaru stiffened at the invitation.
'Eh.....'
