|| PEOPLE ARE LIKE PIECES OF P A P E R ONCE YOU TEAR THEM APART YOU CAN'T FIX THEM NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO OR SAY THEY WILL NEVER BE HOW THEY ONCE WERE. ||
luke never found anyone who lived up to his definition of beauty. his parents, zeus and hera, always nagged him about finding someone to be with, although how could he be with someone who was not perfect?
luke grew up with perfect everything. perfect grades, perfect looks, perfect parents, and if anything was less than perfect for him, it was no good. he found girls too plain and try hards, and most guys too cocky. he found neither of their looks perfect. he may have found a good looking person every here and there, although they were not perfect, therefore not good enough.
it did get lonely for him sometimes, though. he saw all these cute couples, laughing and having fun. he envied them because never once had he felt love, the kind you feel for someone who is not your parent.
"you need to find someone," his mum nagged.
they had this talk almost everyday. hera would nag him about being 18 and single, he would just tell her no one was good enough, she would reply with "you're over reacting luke," and he would just shrug her off. so what if he was over reacting? it was his life, was it not?
"mum, we've had this talk before, no one is good enough."
"dont be such a pessimist. there has got to be someone out there."
"there isn't, mother. i dont see why you try, we've had this talk about a hundred times now."
"because i won't give up until my child is happy, and by the looks of it, youre going to end up miserable and a 40 year old virgin."
"excuse you, i will not."
"just find someone, luke, i dont see why youre not trying."
"no one is perfect enough, mother."
"then make someone perfect enough for you. your father did not give you all the talent in the world for you to waste it, create someone perfect for you. it could even be a guy if you want."
"what's in it to you?" he questioned his mother. they have had this talk many times but never once had she actually told him to create someone to love, let alone be the person a guy.
being to son of hera and zeus meant living up to their expecations, to their reputation. anything luke does can ruin their reputation, making the other gods and goddesses upset with his parents. he didn't want that, mainly because he did not want the consiquences that would come with that.
his parents always wanted him to grow up with a beautiful girl that have planned for him to marry at a young age, although their plans got ruined at the age of 15 when luke straight up told the girl every last flaw she had. ever since then she refused to even look at luke's direction. in his defense, it was not his fault she was not perfect.
"there's nothing in it for me, just your happiness." hera half-lied. yes she wanted her only son to be happy, but she would never tell him that she had made a bet with athena that her son could do something better than their child, calum. she was so sick of athena telling her all of these things her child could do that she could care less about, so to shut her up, she made the bet. hera betted that her child, luke was more creative than athena's child, calum. whoever wins gets their sculpture brought to life by aphrodite, the goddess of love.
and that is how luke decided to create the perfect sculpture of the perfect person. that was how luke created michael.
