"Rebecca! Slow down!" I shouted as Rebecca practically ran out of Ms. Scollon's room.
She didn't answer me, but instead sped up. I started running, hoping to catch up. But then she ducked into Mr. Growe's room, her next class. I debated going in and talking to her, but figured that she must not want to right now. Anyways, I had to get to History, and after that it would be lunch and I could just talk to her then.
I turned around to walk to history, but I was out of breath and needed to pause for a second. The hallways were crowded, and people were staring at me, so I ducked into the bathroom and sat down on one of the toilets to catch my breath.
I could hear kissing noises in the stall next to me and silently groaned. I don't think it's possible to go anywhere in Salvin High School without finding some couple kissing, or touching, or doing...other things.
"Your the cutest."
"No you are."
"No you!"
But really all it was was just another couple making out in the girls bathroom. It wasn't unusual.
After I felt like I had recovered from trying to run after Rebecca I left the bathroom, passing Bailey and Caleb as they entered it. I had picked the perfect time to leave, probably dodging a bullet. Unlike most couples in my school, they did much more than just kissing in the bathroom.
I reached the door to the history room just as the bell rang, and also while Mrs. Adams was shutting it. That's what she always did once the bell rang, so that nobody who was late could sneek in.
"Shit," I whispered, knowing that this meant that now I had to knock on the door and walk into the classroom while everyone was staring at me. Maybe I could just skip class, and I wouldn't have to be embarrassed. But as I looked through the window I realized that Davy was staring at me. I couldn't walk away now, not when he knew I was here and would figure that I skipped. I sighed and knocked on the door.
"Eleanor, what a lovely surprise!" Mrs. Adams announced as she opened the door. "It's so nice of you to show up!"
I winced, hating every word she said. I could see my classmates smiling at me, a few laughing. Of all the classes I could have been late to, it just had to be this one. Most of my other teachers wouldn't have even cared that much. But it was Mrs. Adams, so of course she cared about it.
I tried my best to ignore all the eyes that were staring at me as I was dying inside and just walked to my seat next to Davy. He just shook his head and smiled at me. I glared back at him.
"Well, since Eleanor is here, I guess we can start class!" Mrs. Adams chirped, beginning the lesson.
An hour and a half later, the torture called history was finished. The class was terrible because Mrs. Adams kept calling on me and Davy got me in trouble several times by talking to me and 'accidentally' throwing my pencil across the room, leaving me to run and grab it.
"So, that was a fun class, wasn't it? It was hilarious to see you walk in late!" Davy told me as we walked out of class. He seemed to have a skip in his step like always, making it seem like he was a rabbit bouncing around me.
"I hate you," I hissed at him. "You got me in trouble so many times! How do you find that fun?"
"It wasn't just fun, it was funny!" he said, lightly punching my arm.
"You're the worst," I groaned.
"I know."
