Izuku's POV~

After I had explained the mission we were going on and that we had to leave in an hour, my mother obviously cried. Thankfully it didn't last long, just a few tears. At one point I left to get some snacks and I came back to the living room and saw my mother hugging Todoroki. The poor Demon Halve looked impossibly uncomfortable and I had to hide my giggles. He shot me a glare and motioned with his eyes for me to help. I raised my hands up and just sat down with my raspberries.

She eventually let the other boy go. I offered him some of the berries and to my surprise he actually took some. I'm not sure why I thought he wouldn't, but he didn't seem like the kind of guy that would take snacks from the Angel Halve he despised. He stayed at my mom's house for about half an hour before deciding we had to get going. My mom cried, again, and I may have cried just a little bit. She hugged me and she even hugged Todoroki again, but this time he actually weakly returned it.

I ended up leaving with a huge smile on my face. That day I had heard him laugh, seen him smile, and he actually hugged my mom. As far as I knew, no one else even knew he was capable of those things. I called that a win in my book.

Apparently he caught on to my mood, and was clearly puzzled by it. "Why're you so happy all of a sudden." He asked.

I shrugged, not about to tell him it was because of his apparent happiness. "I guess I'm just excited. I've always wanted to travel. We only have a hundred, if we're lucky two hundred, years on Earth before we're screwed for eternity, mine as well live while we can." I said with a shrug.

He seemed surprised by my answer. Most Angel Halves don't refer to Heaven as being screwed for eternity, so I understood why it caught him off guard. "Aren't you just optimistic." Was his witty response. I was honestly expecting better at this point.

"I'm an Angel Halve, optimistic is my middle name." I said playfully shooting him a wink.

He smiled at my joke, but didn't laugh. 'Dang it, I was hoping that'd work.' I whined to myself. "What does that make my middle name then?" He asked me.

I thought about it for a second. "Pessimistic? Shoto... Pessimistic... Todoroki. It's got a nice ring to it." I said in between giggles. I didn't notice that he was also laughing, at first. The sound finally registered and I halted my own laugh. 'I just made him laugh. I made Shoto Todoroki laugh. Holy heck.'

I stared at him in awe for a few seconds before he realized that I had stopped laughing. He sobered up and looked at me with a raised eyebrow. I blushed and hurriedly looked away, causing him to chuckle again. 'Are we sure he isn't an Angel Halve? His laugh is freaking heavenly.' I thought to myself. At least I thought I did.

"Trust me little angel, there's nothing heavenly about me." He said lowly, directing his attention in front of us once again. If I wasn't red before, I definitely was now. I had just called his laugh heavenly. 'Kill me now please.' I prayed. Of course, I didn't die, God's a dick like that.

I was forced to continue the painfully awkward journey to the airport. It wasn't so bad once we actually arrived. There was so much human hustle and bustle happening around us, it wasn't really awkward anymore. We were able to check in and get through security. It was a little challenging for Todoroki though.

Seeing as we are half Angel and Demon, humans have natural instincts about us. Genuinely good humans feel drawn to me and have a sort of bond I guess. Humans who are, for a lack of better words, evil are drawn to me because they want to destroy me. Seriously, they just feel like attacking me. It's weird. For Todoroki, the good humans are scared and cautious around him, causing him to have to go through extra security because the humans got a 'bad vibe' from him. The evil ones are attracted to him and his mischievous aura.

Once we finally made it to our gate, we still had a few minutes before we had to board. We took a seat at one of the little tables they had in the waiting area. We just sat in silence for a few minutes, just staring out the window at some of the passing planes, when he spoke up.

"Have you ever met your dad?" He asked me quietly.

His question startled me. Most Halves don't meet their other parent until they die, but Demon Halves nearly never meet their Demon parents. "Oh, um no. I assume I will once I go tot Heaven." I said with a shrug. I didn't matter to me if I met him or not. He was less of a father to me and more of a sperm donor at this point. That's just how it is with Angel and Demon parents. They don't parent their kids. They just knock up some poor human and leave them to deal with the after math of a Halve kid. Let me tell you, we are not easy to deal with as children.

"Have you?" I asked him, feeling a sense of dread settle in the pit of my stomach. When Demon Halves are in contact with their Demon parent, it's never a good thing. It's usually the first step to fully committing to their demon half. I didn't want that for Todoroki. I didn't want that for anyone.

"Yes."

I didn't know how to respond. What should I have said in that situation? He's met his father, who couldn't have been a pleasant dinner guest seeing as he's a literal Demon. They're violent, aggressive, demented, well assholes really. There are a few that aren't like that, but its rare to find a full blooded Demon capable of being calm and rational.

"Now boarding flight two- eighteen."

The overhead speakers sounded before I could think of a response, saving me from having to. We both silently grabbed our bags and made our way through the hallway to the plane. He didn't speak up again and I didn't either. I decided to close my eyes and try to ignore the awkward atmosphere. I managed to fall asleep before we even took off.
