Anderson POV:
I woke up to a sudden cold on my skin, and put my glasses on to find out what had happened. I found Allison, kneeling on the floor, clutching her head as if in pain. I checked the pendant to find it rapidly flashing between a sickly shade of green and a pastel pink.
" Allison, love, are you alright? What's wrong?"
I threw on a robe and walked over to her, to find her hands were knotted into her chocolate mane, soft mumbling coming from her. I knelt down, and carefully placed a hand on her chin, only to feel something wet. I pulled back my hand to find it was blood I felt.
" Allison, I need you to look at me."
A racking sob came from her, and when she lifted her head, I felt my stomach lurch and my heart freeze.
Her eyes were missing, only empty and bare sockets were left, tracks of bloody tears fell down her brown skin, now covered in scratches and blood weeping wounds. I looked at her hands as she had them out in front of her, as if to find the source of my voice. They were covered in scratches and gouges, her nails looked chipped and broken, as if she had fought something with extreme vigor.
" Alexander, where are you? I can hear you. Please, let me know you are there."
Her voice was quivering from her crying, and I gave her hand mine, and she brought it to her face, holding it against her cheek, as if I would disappear.
" Allison, what did this to you?" I made sure to keep my voice gentle, low, as if I were speaking to a terrified child.
" Echidna. She did this from my dreams. She stole my eyes, silenced my voice so I couldn't scream, and marred my skin, saying that I didn't deserve to be beautiful, because I was still a monster. She taunted me, saying that without my eyes, I would never see you again, and that you would leave me."
" Allison, I would never leave you, not now, not after everything we've been through. I love you, no matter how you look. I'm going to guide you to the bathroom, so that way I can clean you up."
" Okay."
I carefully helped her stand, to find her legs just as destroyed as her face and arms. I picked her up, her head on my chest over my heart, her wounded legs draped over my other arm. I carried her to the adjoining bathroom, and placed her in the tub, removing the bloodied, thin, shredded nightgown. I carefully adjusted the water, and drew her a bath. As I worked, she remained silent, as if should she speak, her voice would betray her truest thoughts.
" I am going to get dressed and to gather you some clothes. I will be right back."
She nods, and I go back into the bedroom, quickly pulling on my jeans and a undershirt, then gathering a new nightgown for Allison. I went back into the bathroom, and turned the bath off. As I helped wash her, she was silent, her once bloody tears became pink in hue, her rose on my pendant was still a sickly green, occasionally flashing pink, like it were a blinking light. Her pendant's rose was a plain, soft, gentle pink.
" Alexander?" Her voice was a raspy croak, you could hear the hurt and the raw pain in it.
" You can just call me Alex, love. What's on your mind?"
" What color is my rose? On your pendant?"
" I don't think telling you that information would prove helpful."
" Please, I need to know."
I sighed. " It's a shade of a sickly jade green."
She took a deep breath. " I was worried if it was just plain grey."
" Why would it be plain grey?"
" Because I don't want to become emotionless from losing my sight."
" Just because you are now blind, doesn't mean you are to become a void."
" Alex, I was wondering if you could hide my disfigurement. I don't want people to be uncomfortable around me."
" If you want to, I can find something to hide your eyes. Let's get you dressed and ready for the day, yeah?"
" Sure, not like I get a say in what I look like anymore." She sounded defeated and hollow, and it hurt to hear.
I pulled the plug, dried her off, and slipped the clean nightgown on her, carrying her to the bed. I looked her arms and legs over, and the water had washed off all the blood, making them look much better. I went to the closet, and found a pair of black leggings and a green shirt. I helped her get changed, then looked around for a sash of sorts, and found a wide green silk sash on a dress in the closet, and used it to cover her eyes, or there lack of.
" We need to go talk to Integra about this. She might have an idea as to how we can improve this situation."
" Alright, if you think so. I would like to walk, if I can."
" Sure. Here, use my arm for support."
I helped her stand, and slowly, but surely, we walked to Integra's office, and I knocked on the door, and to find Walter opening it.
" Ah, Anderson, Pennybrook, how can I- what happened to you?!"
Integra looked shocked to find Allison scared, injured and to have her eyes covered, as she should.
" Echidna attacked me in my dreams. She stole my eyes, and permanently marred my skin. I am now as blind as you can get, for I don't have my eyes anymore."
" Anderson, is she serious?"
" Sadly, yes. I woke up to find her like this, bloody and her eyes are missing, hence the sash."
" This is horrible. Allison, you will need a doctors check up to see if anything can be done to repair your sight. I will call the royal house physician and find out if he can help. Alex, you are to stay with her until I can have a walking aid made for her. You should both go eat, I will alert Alucard to this new development when he awakens. You are dismissed."
Integra was looking so pitiful at Allison, it hurt. She will never see the color of my rose again, she will never know what a sunset looks like again, she will never be able to take care of herself again. I helped her walk to the kitchen, and had her sit in a chair, making her a simple grilled cheese. After making a couple for myself, we ate in silence, my worry for her was a deep shade of orange on her pendant, but she would never know that.
I hope Integra can find a solution to this mess, if there even is one at all.
