It was another day with the blinds shut and door locked. I sat in my bed wondering if I should go eat something, my hands were shaky. I decided away from it and continued to just lay there. The dark voices inside my head, crippling and pulling down all of the energy I had left. If you asked me why I was sad, I wouldn't have an answer. At this point someone could come and give me a million dollars and I still wouldn't be even the slightest bit of happy. This followed as a personality trait for almost a whole year. That was until November 26th, two days before thanksgiving so I was on break from highschool. I woke up and followed my normal routine of texting my only best friend Harry. Harry and I had known eachother since we were 6. No one knew this not even Harry, but he was one of the only things keeping me alive. Everyone liked to think that Harry and I were secretly a couple. Nope, just best friends. Neither one of us has thought of the other as anything more. Well I mean I have secretly been in love with him since we were 6, but that's no big deal, right?
Harper Rae come down and eat! We have guests."
I knew if I didn't make my way downstairs my phone would be taken from my clutch again, so I decided to get my ass up. This is my first time leaving my room in 48 hours so I knew my parents were already not happy with me. What guests did we have over? All of my family, besides my mom dad and sister, live nowhere near us. It couldn't be any of them. I slipped on leggings, a sweater and headed downstairs.
"Harper meet Mrs. Oliver and her son Campbell."
My jaw dropped. Campbell was only the hottest guy I'd ever seen, but was he nice or just a plain dick. I knew no boy could be both, or so I thought.
"Hello Harper it's nice to meet you! My son and I just moved in next door." Mrs. Oliver spoke.
My parents invited Mrs. Oliver and Campbell in for some breakfast and soon enough we were all sitting at the kitchen table.
"Harper your a junior right?" Campbell asked.
It turns out we're in the same grade too. By the time breakfast was over I was drooling all over Campbell. He was so surprisingly nice. His mom had already left to go unpack, so I walked Campbell out the front door. We came out of the house and I shut the door behind me. Shivering, I managed to make out the words "That was fun". He nodded and went in for a hug. I hugged him back and it was almost like a bright light went on inside of me. From now on I knew things were gonna different. There was something different about Campbell, but in a good way.
