I met Calum by his car after giving the boys my keys.
'Took you long enough.' He joked.
'Scuse you sir, it's your job to wait.'
'Sure, whatever you say princess.' He rolled his eyes playfully opening the door for me.
'Thanks.' I laughed before sinking into his warm leather seats. 'Not gonna lie your car is kinda hot.' I commented as he starting it his car roaring to life loudly. That has got to be the best sound in the world.
'Every mans dream. A girl being more into their car than them.'
'Isn't that what most guy do. Get the car to get the girl?'
'I'll give you that one. But then a again it was a late birthdays gift.' He added tearing off down the road towards my house. I nodded.
'So how was first day of classes? As exhilarating as I promised.' He rolled his eyes dramatically before glancing at me,
' A drag and a fucking half. Already have like three papers. That should be illegal. What about you?'
'Honestly felt that. But prob not as bad. Just some quick assignments and one paper. Nothing crazy. But I could use a fat blunt.' He glanced at me laughing.
'What?' 'You didn't peg me as a smoker.'
'Oh I can be such a pothead, fair warning. You're welcome to join me.'
'Well now I definitely am. Consider it payment for the ride.'
'As you wish.' I laughed slightly as he sped up. Looks like I'm no the only one who needs to unwind.

It didn't take long to get to my house. Especially since Calum drives how I do. Within twenty minutes we were pulling into the winding driveway. I entered the house followed by Cal. My Mom was in the kitchen making different. A rare occurrence, butshe was off for a bit working on a new line.
'Hey J how was your day?' She greeted as I kissed her cheek.
'Good.' I nodded she doesn't need to know I cut. 'Cals here hanging out.' I said alluding to the boy who was awkwardly standing in the doorway. My mom smiled brightly at him.
'And how was your day Calum?' One thing I love about my parents. They treat all our friends like their own kids. This is why everyone loves them.
'Alright I guess.' He shrugged gratefully accepting the Gatorade I handed him.
'Don't worry it'll just get more annoying.' My mom joked.
'We're going to go in the pool house for a bit.' I commented. She nodded.
'Dinner will be ready in 45 minutes. You're more than welcome to stay Calum.'
'Thanks, maybe I will.' She nodded again before turning to look at me.
'And behave Jaymes.'
'Alway do mama.' I smirked before heading out to the backyard. Calum followed me towards the pool house. Where I had a blunt hidden in the kitchen drawer.
'Your moms nice.' He commented following me up to roof where we got comfortable. Yes I'm the type of person to smoke in random places like that. So fight me.
'Yeah my parents are pretty chill, and always traveling. We had quite the ragers in high school.' I said lighting the blunt and taking a long drag. Do you ever just take a deep breathe and feel like a weight fall off your shoulders? That's what the first hit always feels like. Like a breathe of fresh air in the ironic way. I passed it to Calum who took his own hit.
'I could see you having a rager. You have the house for it.' He nodded in agreement. For a moment we fell into a comfortable silence just being in each others company. I took couple more long drags from the backwood before passing it back to him. I watched him inhale deeply before exhaling the extra smoke. I couldn't deny that the boy was cute. Black curls falling slightly into his eyes. The way his full lips would wrap around the blunt in order to take a hit. I could already feel the effects of the plant kicking in. The world moving around us ever so slowly as the sun sat lower in the sky. I leaned back laying on the roof. 'Do you think clouds actually move? Or does the world move and the clouds stay still?' He looked at me smiling before leaning back and joining me. 'I never thought about that.' He commented giving me back the blunt. 'I tend to think about the things no one else does. I mean someone's got to right?' I took a drag craving the burn In the back of my throat as the smoke entered my lungs before passing.
'Who says someone has to?'
'You make a good point. But if no one thinks about random things we wouldn't have so many of the discoveries that we have today.' He stayed quiet for a moment as if digesting the information.
'You also make a good point.' I laughed watching a he took another hit moving closer cupping my face and shot gunning the smoke into my mouth. I inhaled before slowly exhaling. His eyes fluttered to my lips for a second as he bit his own. I could feel my heartbeat pick up at the sudden close proximity of us. My skin burning where his hand rested. 'You intrigue me.' He said softly before pulling back. 'Do I? I questioned accepting the blunt back from him pushing any thoughts to the back of my mind. 'Is that a good thing?' 'I haven't decided yet. But yeah.' He shrugged. I intrigue him? He's got to be more than I am. I took another drag watching as Brayden stuck his head out the back door.
'Mom said dinners ready.' He called before shaking his head 'Potheads.' Idiot. 'Wanna stay for dinner?' I asked turning to the boy next to me. He was still watching me closely. 'What?' 'Im gonna figure you out.' He stated. 'Not if I do first.' I smirked before getting up holding out my hand, 'Let's go eat. I'm kinda starving.' He accepted my hand pulling himself up.
'Do I look as high as I feel?' He asked looking down at me. His eyes were blood shot and cheeks slightly pink from the wind, but nothing horrible.
'You'll be ok. If anything I look worse. They won't say anything we probably won't all be eating together anyways dads not home.'
'Ok, but I'm blaming you if I get in trouble.'
'Snitches get stitches. If anything you're corrupting me.'
'Oh sure. That's what's happening.' He chuckled drapping his arm across my shoulders walking towards the house.
