Kari awoke on the Star Forge's second deck. The room she was in had been outfitted with equipment and devices that she speculated had been designed for torture. Unfortunately, she was also behind a Force Cage. 'No chances of escaping now... Guess I'll just have to hold out until the others find the star map on Tatooine.' She looked around the cage she was in to find that she was still dressed in a black version of her usual Jedi garb. Leather tabards accented the cloth of her tunic, as fiddled with her belt only to find no pouches were available. "Well, at least the Sith know how to keep prisoners detained... could do with some water or food though." She smirked to herself, "Guess all I can do now is meditate." She knelt to the ground, breathing in the Force around her and hoping to commune with the Light Side. Only this time, the Light Side was non existent here. The air around her was cold, full of nothing but pure evil. It started to remind her of something, somewhere she had been before.
You can never escape me...
The entry door to her room opened, revealing Darth Malak himself along with two other Sith apprentices. The metallic jaw Malak had attached to himself shined with blinding light as it reflected off the energy that Kari's Force Cage was emitting. He twisted his right hand, now robotic since he lost the real one to his former master. "Ah, I see you are now awake. How are you finding the Star Forge's torture chamber?" He asked with delight in his robotic voice.
Kari winced at his words. The man was truly insane and sadistic. "If I may, it seems quite small compared to what the Wookiees have on Kashyyyk." She wanted to take a step back, to be rid of his gaze once and for all. "Why do you have me in black robes? I'm pretty sure that only Dark Side users can wear these ugly pieces of filth."
The Sith apprentice to the right stepped forward, almost as if to lunge at Kari. Malak placed his hand down, holding him back from his prey. "Now, now Kari. Let's not be too hasty. I'm sure we can come to a working arrangement of terms for your release. I know the Jedi won't be too happy to find that not only is the sister of Tai Kamiya no longer among them, but the Sentinel of the Jedi Order as well."
Kari breathed in disbelief. "So, you have Sora as well... Anyone else I should know about?"
"That depends... on your cooperation. If you cooperate with me, I shall release you back to the Jedi. If not... then I'm sure I'll release you back to them under different circumstances."
Kari smirked. What different circumstances could he mean? She would never betray the Jedi Order for anything.
You can never escape me...
"I won't tell you anything. I'm sure you already know much since Revan filled you in on a lot of details." Kari shook her hand, just missing the edge of the cage.
Malak laughed at her attempt. "Such resolve in your words. But I can see the truth in your heart. There is something... two things you don't want me to know about... what are they?" Malak then closed his eyes and began to probe Kari's mind.
She tried to force him out, not let him see anything that might endanger her friends or... "TK!" She yelled, collapsing on to the floor.
If Malak could grin, he would have done so. The information within Kari Kamiya's mind was so entertaining, so helpful and ecstatic. He wondered why such a Jedi would fall to an easy trap set by a Sith Inquisitor. Then he found his prize.
The figure turned to face her. A deep hiss broke from the masked warrior "Poor child, it seems you still have some maturing to go through." The figure sighed as she took off the mask. Dropping to the ground, Kari gasped in horror at who the figure was. It was a mirror image of herself, gone over to the Dark Side. The face was still the same, however, the Dark Side had corrupted most of its natural beauty. In place of rosy cheeks, there were wrinkles and creases. Instead of shining blue eyes or brown natural eyes, there were sulfuric yellow eyes that were surrounded by bloodshot veins. The beautiful skin that had once decorated all of her had given way to gray.
