I punch the man in front of me with all my might and watch as he falls to the ground, out cold. I hop out of the ring as my manager, Ace, congratulated me on my win. Ace is 20 and like a big brother to me. He has always looked out for me but he isn't in the place right now to adopt me, but I don't mind he still take care of me to a certain extent. He became my manager about a year ago when I needed to release some steam. He saw me training and said he saw potential in me. And it paid off because I am the undefeated street fighter, Shadow.

My name is Ivy Black, I am 14 years old and I am an orphan. I became an orphan when I was around seven. My parents were killed in a shooting. I enjoy street fighting, weapons, street racing and cars. I work at a garage down the road from the orphanage. By boss Ray is one of the only people I like beside Ace and Nate. Nate is my best friend at the orphanage and he is 16. He has also become a brother to me and he promised if we were both still in the orphanage when he turned 18 he would adopt me.
I have been adopted 9 times. They have all been abusive homes or had taken me back to the orphanage because I was to "rebellious". The care taker at the orphanage is Miss Kimberly but we all call her Miss K. She is also someone that I like. She understands what I have been through and on adoption day she doesn't force me to come down or talk. 

After my fights I have to sneak back into the orphanage. I am on the second floor so I can't climb into my window so Nate normally sneaks down to let me in the front door. Luckily he did that tonight. I go upstairs to my room and take a shower. I hop in bed and think about tomorrow which is adoption day. Luckily we are all homeschooled so we don't have to miss school. I am extremely smart so I don't really need to go to school since I basically have tested out. As I fall asleep I can't help but feel that tomorrow's adoption day is going to be different.

Rico's POV

I am sitting at my desk when my annoying brother burst through the door. "Do you not know how to knock?" He just shrugs and plops down on the couch opposite of my desk. I roll my eyes at his immaturity. Let me introduce myself. My name is Rick Daniels and I am 26, my brother is Rex and he is 24 but acts like he is 14. 
I can tell by the look on his face that he is hesitant to ask me what he is about to ask. "Spit it out"
He took a deep breath "Ithinkyoushouldadoptachildsincerosecantgetpregnant" I look at him and just blink. "Ok say that again, but like twelve times slower. "I think you should adopt a child since Rose can't get pregnant." He says nervously. I know he is being cautious because of how upset Rose was, not because I am his boss. I lean back in my chair "we are in no position to take care of a baby" he just rolled his eyes like it is the simplest thing in the world. "No dummy, adopt a teenager and then you can train them to take over the gang when they are of age." I have to admit that it was a good idea. Plus it would make Rose happy. I look at the picture I have on my desk of us on our honeymoon and sigh. This is something that would make her extremely happy and it would benefit the gang in the end. It will also get the police off my back. I know I may sound selfish but the gang is my life and has been in my family for generations. I don't expect to start bonding with the kid and have a relationship. I will leave that up to Rose. I look at Rex "for once in your life you actually thought before you spoke." He just rolled his eyes and said that tomorrow was the adoption day. He leaves my office and I put my hand behind my head and lean back in my chair with a sigh. I wonder how this will work, what if the kid we adopt is not interested and has no skill? What if they put the gang in jeopardy? I sit at my desk with all of these questions going through my head. I better enjoy the quiet now because I have a feeling my life is about to change drastically.

But little did I know it was for the good.......
