"Ivy we need to talk about your parents."

When he said those words I froze. Blaze ran a comforting circle on the back of my hand with his thumb reassuring me that he was there. In just the short amount of time I have known him I am completely shock by how close I feel to him and how easily he can calm me down.
We follow them up to Rico's office where the twins and Rex are spread out on the couches and chairs. Blaze and I take a seat on one of the small couches by the window and wait for an explanation.
Rico sat at his desk and handed me a file. When I opened it I was shocked to see pictures of my parents doing everyday things. Some of my mom at the grocery store, my parents at work, and even some of us sitting down at the table for dinner.

"As you can see these photos were taken without anyone's knowledge and we figured out that it was probably a hit man so we dug deeper on that. We confirmed our suspicion when we see the records for our enemy gang, the Black Rose gang they hired a hit man to kill your parents."
In complete shock I was still staring at the photos processing everything.

"Why? They must of had a reason."

"Well it turns out your father was very good with computers and was a hacker. He did a bit of hacking for a smaller gang for some quick money. The gang is no longer in operation since they were taken out by the Black Rose Gang but the Black Roses found out he hacked them and put a hit out for him."

"So why is he still after me and now coming after you guys?"

"That's what we tried to figure out and we can't seem to pin point the reason why. They already killed your parents so I don't know what you have to do with anything."

"I don't care about what happens to me but I want everyone here to stay safe." I say while looking around the room at the guys that have become family.

"Don't worry we will figure this out and we will all stay safe."

With a small smile Blaze leads e out of the room and we go up to my bedroom. I kick off my heels and plop onto my bed with a loud groan. "Why is my life so complicated?"

"I don't know sweetheart but how about we relax for the rest of the day." He suggested.

Agreeing I go change into leggings and an oversized T and he changes into sweatpants and a T shirt that he brought to leave here.

On the way downstairs I decide to check in on Char and I see her looking out her window.
"Hey munchkin whatcha doing?"

"Ivy!!!"

After giving me a big hug she asks if we can all go play outside. I of course say yes and we walk downstairs to the back yard. Well Blaze and I walk, Char is on his back.

I am sitting in the hammock listening to Char squeal as Blaze chases her around. I smile at how well they get along, he is great with her and she loves him. Getting up I decide to join them and start chasing Char.

Carter's POV
We are all in Rico's office and we hear a bunch of squealing and laughter coming from the backyard. Getting up we look out the window and see Ivy and Blaze chancing Char around. It is something that makes me happy to see because before he met Ivy Blaze was always closed off and wasn't social. He never opened up or truly relaxed. Ivy has changed him for the better.

Rico spoke from beside me "They really have helped each other. In the short amount of time that have known each other they have both gotten happier."

I nod, agreeing with him and we go back to work listening to them laughing while they run around outside.

Ivy's POV
We have had dinner and are now upstairs in my room. Blaze is staying over so we decided to watch a movie.

Halfway through the movie I am laying with my head on Blaze's chest and our legs intertwined. He is rubbing my back and occasionally playing with my hair.
"Hey Blaze?"

"Mhm"

"How come you never talk about your mom?"
At first he tensed up but I rub little circles and on his shoulder and grabbing his other hand causing him to relax.

"You don't have to tell me."

"No I want to."

Patiently, I wait for him to gather his thoughts. "A couple years ago my dad and brother went out to some training thing with the gang but I stayed home with my mother."

Pausing he takes a deep breath as he fight the memories that are resurfacing.

"It was a normal night and I was in my room while she was downstairs cooking us dinner since she gave the cook the night off. I heard a loud crash and I rushed downstairs. I saw some guy in the kitchen pointing a gun at my mother. All he said was your husband must suffer and he shot her. I didn't make any noise because I didn't want him to know I was there. I hit the panic button my dad installed in the house and rushed to my mother. He shot her in the chest so I tried to stop the bleeding. The last thing she told me was to tell Dad and Hunter that she loved them and that she loved me very much. She told me that one day I would meet a girl that would capture my heart and attention and to treat her like a princess.
After she said that she took her last breath right as my Dad and Hunter burst through the door. That was the first time I saw my dad cry."

When he finished I had tears falling down my face and he wiped them away. I gave him a hug and we just sat there while I processed what he said. "I am not going to pity you because I know how it feels to be pitied but I am sorry that you had to go through that."

He kissed my forehead "Goodnight sweetheart."

I didn't get to respond because my world went black as I fell asleep in Blaze's arms.
