Vampire Knight ( A Forgotten Love )

~Charlotte's POV~

Bloodshed. What a terrible and cruel thing to create. Vampires killed my family. I am not one to talk. I'm an aristocrat Vampire and like I said, my family was killed by a vampire. A cold blooded level E vampire.

It was supposed to be a happy day. We were celebrating my young sister's 6th birthday on the beach. It got cold and started to snow, so we all went inside to make hot chocolate and roast marshmallows in the fireplace, but instead found a class level E vampire sucking the life out of our mother, Clara.

My father was lying dead on the floor blood staining his perfect black hair, and my mother. Her face was showing nothing but pain and agony. We ran outside and didn't stop. By we I mean my older brother Hazuka and my younger sister Penny. Hazuka was carrying penny in his arms and made sure that she didn't see the monster chasing us.

"Charlotte. Take Penny and run to the closest building. Please. Don't look back, just run!" These were the words of Hazuka.

"No! I'm not leaving you! We need you!" I screamed.

"No. Penny needs you right now. So please take her and don't look back." He said setting Penny in my arms.

"Now run!"

I did what he asked me to do and ran. However, I did look back only to see that my brother was now covered in blood.

The snow became heavy and thick. I was cold and my legs hurt from running so far. I saw a building with lights on about an hour after shoveling my feet through sheets and mounds of snow. Finally, a place to rest. The level E stopped chasing us, but I kept moving on until I saw the building with the lights clearly.

"Don't worry Penny. I found a place where we'll be safe."

She didn't answer. She was asleep in my arms. I had put my jacket onto her earlier, I think she got comfortable and fell asleep.

"I'm so sorry that this happened. I promise I will protect you with my life."

~Zero's POV~

I left my room and walked into Cross's office. I was still shocked that I told Kelsey that I was a level E. And that we kissed. She's so focused and brave. And beautiful, but will our feelings for each other end?

I entered the room, Cross was standing at the window staring out into the storm.

"What is it Zero?"

"You knew about Kelsey? Didn't you?" I asked in a firm voice.

"I did. And her parents were also vampire hunters. That's why I put her into the disciplinary committee."

"Why didn't you tell us?"

"Because if you told anybody. It'd be murder."

We were silent. I can't believe that she's on someone's murder list. Who would want Kelsey to die?

"Zero! Follow me!"

I looked outside the window and saw why he stormed out of the room. A girl with pitch black hair was collapsed in the front of the school. A level E was walking toward her.

"Zero! Come on!"

We reached the girl before the Level E could. It had blood dripping out of its mouth and it's clothes were doused in blood as well.

"Zero. Get the girl. I'll get the other one." He ordered picking up a small girl maybe about 5. She had long red hair and was asleep in Kaien's arms.

I picked up the collapsed girl and ran back to the building. We left the Level E vampire to the night class students.

The girl was ice cold and her eyes weren't opening.
