Forget me not

Saint Chocolates day was busy, but in an orderly fashion for our disciplinary committee members. They had a few problems with Aido, but it was still a big hit. Time passed by for them, until the dance became a problem.

~Kelsey's POV~

I'm glad that Saint Chocolates day has passed. I got everybody chocolate and Kaname got some too. I think he got me some roses, because when I got to my room somehow a vase of beautiful red roses were perched on my window sill. And the card was a love poem.

Anyway, the dance is coming up and I don't have a date. Even though most of the boys in my class asked me to go with them, but I turned them down. I was waiting for Kaname to ask me, but I thought I might ask him instead.

I'm also glad that my ankle healed. I couldn't stand not doing anything! It was so boring. I had to put up with Cross everyday until I could actually walk.

I'm now on patrol. Making sure no girls get to the night class students. Or the other way around. So far so good. I passed Charlotte on the way to the water fountain. She looked a bit frazzled and upset. I wanted to help, but she ran off toward the main building.

I just kind of wandered around the fountain, I don't know why, but I did. I guess I was waiting. For who, I don't know. I guess I'm just waiting.

Someone came up behind me and kissed my neck. I looked up and saw beautiful crimson eyes. It was Kaname.

"Hello." I said smiling.

"Hello Kelsey. I hope I came at the right time."

"Yeah. Wait, for what?"

"I came to ask if I could have the pleasure of having you go with me to the dance." He said taking my hand and kissing it.

"Sure. I mean yes... I'd love to. But..."

"I really don't know how to dance." I finished.

"Well then I guess I'll have to teach you."

"Okay, but I'm blaming you if you get stepped on."

"Fair enough. I'm afraid I have to go, but meet me in my room tomorrow afternoon. We'll practice there."

"Okay. See you tomorrow."

"I'll be waiting."

He walked back to the night class dorms leaving me with the fountain.

'What a romantic.' I thought as I walked back to my room.

'Dance lessons? With non other than the handsome and charming Kaname Kuran. Wow. Am I lucky or what?'

~Charlotte's POV~

I'll just go to the dance alone. Yeah. Alone with nobody else but me. That sounds nice. I thought about asking Zero, but that's just a stupid question. He'd never go with me. A blood sucking vampire.

The dance is only a couple days away and I need a dress pronto. And I know exactly who to go to.

"Cross. Do you have a dress I can wear to the dance?" I asked. I didn't care, I just got straight to the point.

"I do. It should be in your room. And I picked it out just for you!" He said reaching out for a hug. I sidestepped and he landed on the ground.

"Thanks." I said then ran to my room.

Sure enough. There was a white box sitting on my bed. A black strapless dress with a blue flower on the side of it was folded neatly inside the box. It had black heels that matched it on the side. Perfect.

I am going to admit that Cross does have a good sense of fashion...at times. I set the box aside and laid down in bed.

I fell into a deep sleep. And the dream was unforgettable.

~The dream~

I was crying while looking at the frail, cold and fragile body of my sister. She was laying down in the soft white snow. Blood dripping out of her mouth, she had been beaten to death. Her dark green eyes were half-way opened and she showed no emotion. She was wearing a red and white dress that looked really cute on her, but it was now covered in her blood.

"PENNY!! Don't give up! Don't leave me, I need you! I promised you I would protect you! You can't die! I love you." I screamed cradling her body in my arms.

"Charlotte. Please, live on. I took my own life because I knew I could save you. And please... Never forget me." Then she closed her eyes and took her last breath.

She was dead. I heard no heart beat.

"PENNY!!"

I woke with a start. Tears were rolling down my face and Penny wasn't in bed.

I ran everywhere. I couldn't find her. I realized that she might be with Cross, but he didn't know where she was either.

"I'll help you look. You search by the lake. I'll look for her over by the night class dorms."

We both left the room and went looking for my sweet little sister. On the way I found Yuki and Kelsey. I told them what was going on and they both said they'd help look. I didn't see Zero, so maybe she was with him. No, I'm imagining it.

I finally arrived at the lake. Snow started to fall onto the glistening blue lake. Then I saw her... The dream wasn't a dream... It was reality. Her small body was laying in the powdered ground, her eyes were half-way open. And blood was dripping out of her mouth.

"PENNY!! Don't give up! Don't leave me, I need you! I promised you I would protect you! You can't die! I love you." I cradled her in my arms and cried.

"Charlotte. Please, live on. I took my own life because I knew I could save you. And please... Never forget me." Then she closed her eyes and took her last breath.

She was dead. I heard no heartbeat.

"PENNY!!" I screamed.

Cross and the others found me holding my dead sisters body about a minute later. I cried more and more as they took her away from my arms. Kelsey knelt down next to me and opened out her arms. I crashed into them and cried.

"I know how you feel. My family was killed right in front of me. And I didn't even get to say goodbye. Or I love you." She told this to me in a soft and warm way. She started to stroke my head and sing 'I wouldn't mind' by He is We.

'She has a beautiful voice. Just like an angel.'

She helped me up, and led me to the main building. Yuki was also there to help me. She said that we'll celebrate her passing with a party.

Kaien told us to go on to the building. He wanted to properly tend to the body. I still can't believe she's gone.

Whoever did this...will pay the price.

Dun..dun...dun! M kay bye!
