{Lilli}
The next morning, I awoke with sunshine, peeking its way through my blinds. My clock read 6:00AM. I stumbled from bed, marching over, pulling them open and being blinded by the sparkly fresh snow, reflecting the sunrise. It left me speechless.
I took a big yawn, followed by a stretch. I stood still in spot for a moment, focusing on my breathing. In and out, in and out, in and out. It was fresh and I felt warm in my cold body. Walking out of my room, I noticed a body laying on my couch. I remembered it was Payton.
Knowing me, I tiptoed over, snagging a pillow from the other couch. I lifted it high above my head, preparing, then... WHACK! right in the face.
He groaned loudly, squirming to face forward. I crouched down, pecking his cheek. "Good morning, sleeping beauty," I giggled, rising to my feet. I started down the small hallway. "Rise and shine, I have to be at the train station in an hour!" I called over my shoulder.
I locked the bathroom door and stripped bare. I turned the water on lukewarm, then stepped in.
Today was the day. The day where I get to see my brother once again. The day that I've been waiting for for the past four years. It's finally here and I couldn't be happier.
As I ran the razor over my legs, shaving them down smooth, my brain seemed to have clicked off the happy switch and clicked on the anger. It was soon flooded with raging thoughts as to why he was doing this again. Everything angry, took me over, and I was soon possessed by my angry, inner demon.
I wrapped a towel in my hair and around my body, then jogged quickly to my room. I shut the door, trapping myself in, and dried off.
I pulled on something nice but casual and comfy. Jeans, a blank tank, and my white knit cardigan. I brushed through the tangled curls, blow drying it to fluff. It wasn't cooperating with me, as usual, so I just pulled it back into a nice ponytail. Wanting to look like cute little Lilli, I tied a black ribbon into a bow around the hair-tie.
I played with my makeup. Wanting to make a first good impression, but not wanting to overdue it so much. I layered on a foundation with some light powder just to matte it down. I put on a pretty pink eyeshadow, blending it out, making it more noticeable around the corners to make my eyes pop. I winged out black liquid eyeliner, then brushed on my mascara. The look was missing something.
I snatched my pink Chapstick from my purse, adding the nice colour to my completed look. Now, it's perfect.
I walked out into the living area. Payton was sitting on the couch in jeans and a nice flannel. His beanie placed on his head which I admired about him. He brought his eyes up and they lit up and he grinned.
"Morning beautiful," Payton complimented, walking over to me. He kissed the top of my head, my face flushing red, then made way to the door. "Shall we go? Don't want you to miss the train."
I nodded and followed him to the door. Before he put on his boots, he left to my room, bringing out my bags. I pulled on my thick army green jacket, my grey combat boots, and my red knit mittens.
I grabbed my duffle bag, while Payton helped carry the bigger one. We walked out to the car, loaded it up, then departed to the train station.
-----
We waited at the station, barely anybody here. It was cold outside, merely freezing. I dug my hands in my coat pockets and tried to burrow in to my coat to keep my lower face warm. It was no use. I shivered rapidly.
"Come here," Payton said, holding open his arms. I waddled over, snuggling close into him to keep warm but his outer coat was just as cold. I lay my head on his chest, listening to the faint beautiful sound of his heart beat. He rubbed my back, looking down at me.
