"Mom, can I tell you something?" Summer asked, she'd never been more nervous about anything in her life. And she wasn't excited to see her mom's reaction.
"What, are you pregnant?" Scarlett had asked jokingly, not even glancing over.
Summer could tell her mom was joking, but she was stuck, unaware of where to go next, "I know you're joking and I really wish I could say no."
Scarlett finally looked at her daughter, a look of surprise on her face, "Wait, you're actually pregnant?"
Summer nervously nodded, "yeah, are you mad?"
"No, actually. I'm just a little shocked."
Summer sighed in relief, this definitely wasn't the way she thought her mom would react. But she would take it.
"Mom, do you wanna see a picture?"
Scarlett scoffed, "of course I wanna see a picture."
Summer ran back to her room, digging out the ultrasound from her bag before running back to the living room.
"That's your granddaughter." She'd said as she handed it to her mom.
"Wait, you already know?"
"Yeah, and they did some blood tests to confirm it."
"I'm too young to be a grandma."
Summer just shook her head, "Yeah, but you'll be the coolest grandma so it's fine. Just don't tell my grandma I just said that."
Scarlett laughed, "Trust me, I won't."
