Summer thought everything was fine. Sure, they'd found out some bad news at Noelle's doctors appointment, but it wasn't anything they hadn't already suspected. Her spinal cord was damaged and she would probably never walk and she'd gone blind in her left eye.
But Andrew seemed quieter afterwards, like it was too much for him to express out loud, so Summer had let him be.
But clearly things weren't fine.
The note that was in her hand told her otherwise. And that wasn't even what upset her the most, it was the fact that he didn't even have the balls to do it in person. He couldn't abandon his girlfriend and their new baby in person. He had to do it the pathetic way because he knew what he was doing was wrong.
"Summer, you okay?"
Summer tried to hide the tears in her eyes as her mom walked up to her in the living room.
"Yeah, fine." She quickly said, "it's fine."
Noelle cried soon after, allowing her to escape her mom's gaze.
