"Bunno, i still can't believe you transferred to dauntless. Can you believe just a few months ago you stayed at my house til the morning, stressing about our exam results." Joshy remembers.
"Oh yeah, those were simultaneously the worst and best days of my life," I smile at the thought and look at Joshy "How's life without my joyful self?"
"Oh, horrid," Joshy jokes, causing me to chuckle "But seriously, i miss you. When am i ever going to find someone like you?"
"Aw, Joshy, stop it. You're making me blush," I smile. How long it'd been without Joshy had makes me realise how far i've come. It makes me proud, but more so worried. The end of initiation is nearer and nearer.
"Wait, I'm taking a dauntless initiate to Erudite for testing. You know who's doing the testing, right Andy?" Joshy's voice brings out a squeak like a pubescent boy. Him calling me my name means serious business.
I wave Joshy off. "No worries, my dearest Joshua, i've requested Jeanine do the testing. I might've left Erudite, but that doesn't make me dumb."
"Whew, that's good. Anyways, we're nearly there. You better become a leader or some shit so i can see you more often." Joshua orders with a wink.
I giggle, quickly nodding. "I'll see you another time, Joshy. Tell your folks i said hi and tell mine to fuck off. Oh, and tell Amy she can kiss my ass."
Joshua lets out a heartfelt laugh as he backs the car into a parking spot "Will do, Bun. Love you."
Four and Eric step out the car as i fist bump Joshua "A terrible decision, really." I smirk, rushing out after Eric. Whom then slams the door behind me.
I flinch and look down, quickly entering the building thru the giant entrance. A few uptight Erudites look at me with disgust and fear, but i stride on to the test centre. This is my home base, i know exactly where everything is.
Before i can pass the lobby, however, i am greeted by security. All Erudite. I flinch a punch at one and he immediately backs away. Before i can pass them Eric catches up with me.
"Trying to run away?" Eric smirks as he tightly grabs my shoulder "You can't."
I squirm under his grip. These halls may get me tense, but Eric just went too far. I force my elbow towards his abdomen and tightly grip his collar, forcing him to my height.
Words were never my strongest feature, so instead i just glare at him. I don't bother to wipe away the tear rolling down my cheek.
"Star!" I hear Jeanine joyfully announce my nickname from the balcony.
I quickly wipe away my tear and put a smile on my face as i rush up the stairs. "Mom!" I say, hugging her tightly.
Jeanine hugs me back and calls over Eric and Four. She personally escorts me to the test centre and i pretend i don't get a hitched breath every time i see someone familiar walk by.
At the end of the long hallway the four of us and Jeanine's security enter the room labelled with various words. Most of them meaning if you enter this room you die.
"So, i hear you're doing quite well. Top of your class. How's Vincent doing? And that Olive girl, is she doing okay?" Jeanine asks as she appoints me to a chair similar to the ones used for the aptitude test.
