Chapter 15 - Blue (Part 2) - Peter's POV

It was a robbery attempt at a bank. I slipped in as quietly as possible, planning to do a sneak attack. Their weapons seemed to be very advanced, which would be very dangerous for the people around them. I entered through the ventilation system. I went down inside and shot one of them, gluing them to the walls. As I was about to sneak on the other one, one of the gunmen saw me and started taking a hostage.

"Don't do anything funny Spider-Man," he threatened, "Or this lady will have her head gone."

"Look, man, just don't shoot, okay," I raised my hand, "I won't do anything!"

"Good, one move and we'll shoot all of these people."

I glanced on the window on my right side, noticing a blue costumed guy with a fox mask peeking at us. Minutes later, the robber's blasters were turned to dust. I instantly knew it was Aoi, he came and saved me from a tight situation again. Once the table turned, I began webbing and fought the guys one by one. A giant hole suddenly appeared on the wall, where people escaped. With no more unarmed civilians nearby, I finally was able to fight back. I also noticed Aoi had improved his evading skills. We ended the fight well, despite me getting some nasty bruises on my back. I invited Aoi to come along with me for the night, which he instantly accepted. I swung with him across the city. He was scared of extreme height and speed. To make him more comfortable, I slowed my swinging down. I brought him to my hiding place, where I isolate myself whenever I'm in a bad mood. We talked a lot and he didn't seem to be as distant as when he talked to the uncostumed me. He kept self-deprecating though, which really broke my heart. He's wonderful but he refused to acknowledge it. We ended our conversation when Nat called him. I took him to another place and bought him food. After the short dinner, I carried him home. At first, I hesitated to make a bold move, but I did it anyway since now I'm Spider-Man, who he wouldn't hesitate to be around with. I opened my mask halfway to my nose, about to kiss him in front of the elevator, but I backed away and ran. Aoi searched for me again, wanting to say goodnight. I appeared in front of him, upside down. He thanked me for the night and smiled again. The same beautiful smile he had a year ago. This time I couldn't resist it anymore. I put my hand on the back of his head and pulled him closer.

"Um, webs?" I blinked, "What are you-"

I kissed him upside down. It was our first kiss. He was worried about the settings and how we were both filthy from the fight. It felt awesome regardless. I shushed him and went for a second time. After the amazing and long kiss, I bid him goodbye.

"Bye, beautiful," I still meant it.

The next night, we ate dinner together while watching the movie I've promised him to bring since last week. After the movie ended we shared stories about our families, we even touched on my parents and Ben. He said they would be proud if they see me now. When I mentioned that Ben already died three years ago, he started crying. I panicked and was about to grab some tissues, but he told me to stay with him instead. Turned out, he was feeling guilty for not being grateful enough with his life and for being weak in handling his problems. I hugged him and assured him it's okay to cry from time to time. I also told him not to belittle himself anymore. I really wanted him to realize he was nowhere below extraordinary. We watched more movies after and I was glad they lifted his spirit again. I decided it was the right time to ask him for a second date. I used the bet I won and asked him straight away, explaining my plan for our date. He became silent for a moment.

"I'd want to!"

"Well, you can't refuse! I used my bet rewards and you-" he continued, mishearing my answer, "...huh?"

"Yes! I want to go out with you... on a date!"

I was relieved and delighted at the same time. I was scared for a moment he would reject it, but fortunately, he accepted. The next morning, I woke up super early and went back to my apartment. May was surprised I came home in the early morning weekend. I told her I'm going to take Aoi for a date that day and would bring him to visit our apartment and meet her. She started cleaning the whole apartment right away. She went out and bought some flowers and a cake. When she returned home, she saw me being indecisive about what to wear.
