👑Chapter 20: King of The Mountain

They couldn't believe it. After all this time, they had finally made it! The top was basically flat, with a huge hole in the center. The group walked over to it and peered down, but saw nothing. This mountain must have been a volcano or something.

Cas found a nearby pebble, and was about to pick it up to throw it into the hole (to see how far it would go before making a noise), but stopped upon seeing strange pink flecks on it. Well, there WAS that weird lizard who had dusted the place with corruption when the group had arrived, so...maybe that was what that was? He decided not to pick up the rock, and instead tried to find a different rock with less/no corruption on it. Ami looked around the volcano, but there really wasn't much to see, just flat land and the island below them. Cas finally found a rock and kicked it into the hole.

El noticed, and ran over to him.

"What are you doing?!" she hissed.

"Kicking a rock to see how deep the hole is" Cas replied nonchalantly.

"But what if something's DOWN THERE?! Are we really ready for another boss fight after we failed our first one?!"

"What makes you think it's a boss fight?" Coco asked. He had heard them conversing and wanted to listen in.

"Well, why would we have to climb all this way just to fight some lower-tier creature?" Cas asked, "I'd figure that the being in the volcano must be pretty strong!"

"Well...I guess..." El mumbled.

"Seems logical to me" Coco said.

Ina, was looking down at the island below them. They were so high up, and everything looked amazing! Digo was walking around the hole, trying to see if there was anything on the ground of sorts. Ami noticed that Cas was searching for rocks and walked over. Cas on the other hand, was looking for a HUGE rock to throw in for funsies.

El and Coco on the other hand planned on stopping him. They didn't want him to possibly awaken something they didn't have to deal with. They kept a good eye on him, but were distracted when the rest of the group walked over. Cas, who had actually found a rock, darted over to it, having not wanted the duo to see him find a rock. Ina and the others El and Coco turned around, only to see Cas yeet the big rock into the open part of the volcano.

"CAS NO-"

But it was too late. The rock had been thrown in. There were a few seconds of silence before they head a noise that was probably the rock hitting the lava. They all waited for a moment, anticipating something happening. They expected a big monster to appear and attack them, but...nothing was happening?

Suddenly, the volcano began shaking. Digo ran back over to the group, in case a boss DID pop out of the hole, and they would have to fight. Everyone backed away from the hole in case lava came spewing out. As the volcano continued shaking, the group was surprised to see that the lava was actually rising slowly, and they could tell because the storm clouds blocked the sun and the glow of the lava in the hole kept getting brighter and brighter. They got into a battle stance.

The lava kept rising slowly, and the group could see that there was someone in the lava. A corrupted shape, but he was much taller than all of them, was wearing punk clothing, and seemed to be a DJ, as they had headphones on and a table to spin discs in front of them. They were a hexagon like Cho, surprisingly (though Cho insisted that both of them were not related). The group assessed their situation. The boss was a corrupted DJ, and he was basically another shape. They personally believed they could take him if they tried hard enough.

"ARI IN DA HOOOUUUUSSE!" the shape roared.

Ari huh, that was their name? They had a pretty deep voice so perhaps they were male.

"Le's GET THIS BEAT GOIN'!" he shouted.

It was as if he didn't see the group standing in front of him.

"So uh. Do we fight him or not? Is there an easier way around this without initiating a fight?" Digo asked.

"Wouldn't think so. We need the triangle at the end of a battle to heal him..." Ami muttered.

Ari still hadn't noticed them, and was seemingly jamming out to the beats he was making. The group was still discussing the method of attack, but then Ari pressed a button on his table, and the volcano began shaking again. The group quickly turned to Ari, only to see a corrupted treeangle piece rose out of the lava, glowing brightly over him and his DJ set. Okay, so now the group DEFINITELY had to fight him and get the piece back. Before any of them could do anything though, Cas ran over.

"HEY YOU! WE WANNA FIGHT!" he shouted.

The group sighed, internally in pain because that was NOT how they wanted to do this. Even worse, Ari actually stopped his beats, and took off his headset to listen.

"Fight, eh? Sure, sure. Much pleasure to be crushing you."

The group was a little surprised at his broken English, but nonetheless shrugged.

"Oh yeah? We'll see about that!" Cas said, and kicked a small rock at Ari.

The rock actually hit Ari's face, and he growled at Cas. The others immediately tried to calm him down, as an angered boss would make for a harder fight.

"Uh...he didn't mean to do that!" Digo shouted quickly but nervously.

"Excuse our friend, he's a little reckless sometimes, hehe..." Ina said.

"We just want a fair and easy fight..." Ami stated, with Coco nodding vigorously behind him.

El tried to join in with the others.
"I'm sure we can just come to an understanding and proceed-"

"ENOUGH!" Ari roared.

The group immediately shut up.

"You. Destroy. Now" Ari growled.

The gang gulped, but found themselves unable to escape as the battle started.
