⏰Chapter 66: It's Now An Emergency

"Sese, come in."

"Yes, Lord Agen."

"Those shapes have been collecting treeangles left and right. We've only gotten ahold of ONE, no thanks to you. You may be required to go in there yourself and take action should this plan fail."

"Yes sir. Understood."

"You've failed for so long, and I cannot afford to have you fail again."

"R-right."

Sese sighed as he turned off the communicator. Those shapes had seen him weak before, and he was not going to let it happen again.

"Digo, is it really you?!" Coco cried.

"Guys!"

Everyone except the square ran over to hug. The square said nothing as they did so. The others were busy sobbing (not literally) about how much they missed Digo, and how worried they were about him. They explained where they were taken, and what everything was like. Digo was shocked to hear back.

Cas explained how he freed everyone, but left out the parts with Orange. He didn't want the square knowing that he'd worked with the spy, ESPECIALLY since Orange was still out and about in this facility. The others took him a little more lightly, but it was all okay. Digo explained his side of the story, and the square still remained quiet despite receiving glares from the others. He just sighed and shook his head.

These kids...

She watched carefully from her perch in the lair. She'd helped spread the corruption with the other corrupted shapes, but had made sure to stay as hidden as possible. She didn't need security cameras catching her, or other shapes remembering her when they were cured. She just needed to do her task and get out. That's what fierce people like her were all about.

The higher ups had sent her to assassinate this group in case Sese failed to. She'd seen them traveling with Cea before, but now he was gone. Nobody would interrupt her on her mission. She stealthily crept down from her perch, and hid behind the closest wall. Two uncorrupted shapes were approaching, and she wasn't about to have her plans ruined.

-----

The group of shapes was now discussing a tactic to get around their foes and to their goal. The sudden outburst of foes only made this harder.

"Well...now what do we do? Corruption is everywhere," Ami said.

"Is there a path that could get us past them without disturbing them?" Ina asked.

"There WOULD be one, but it isn't stable, and the corruption might hear us if we creak a floorboard or even BREATHE too loud," the square explained.

"Well, maybe we could try anyway?" El suggested.

"Yeah, let's see how creaky this thing is!" Cas exclaimed.

The square sighed.

"I would really rather we not-"

"But sir, it might be our only way," Ami said.

The square grumbled in frustration before shaking his head and steering over towards the exit. The others, seeing as he was moving without a word, started to follow. They all kept quiet, and even the wheelchair seemed to be quiet as well. They went out of the area they were in, and into a series of hallways. They could all hear the sounds of the corruption attacking others around them.

"Here we go..." the square muttered.

They then began rolling quietly across the halls, eyes scanning the room for anything amiss. The others followed close behind, careful not to break anything. They looked down at the floor and saw that there were indeed cracks in it. It looked old and worn down. The walls also looked old and stained as well.

How long had this place existed? Surely someone would've thought to come down here and take care of this, but...perhaps this place wasn't used anymore. It was lost, forgotten, and had aged horribly over time. The corrupted shapes attacking the people inside filled the quiet as the group navigated through the halls. This whole adventure...it was really something, huh?

Creeeak.

Everyone froze.

Was this it? Was this where they had to be careful or they might die? Was their combined weight too much now, and did they need another plan? Ari dared take another step.

Creeeeeeeeak.

Everyone was ready to turn back before it was too late...but trying to go back in a hurry on weak floors probably wasn't going to happen. They could either keep trying to move forwards despite the now-noticeable grumbling noises coming from what was probably the corruption, or slowly head back. Unfortunately, it seemed like the floor had other plans.

Crick...Crack...Snap.

Before anyone had a chance to say something the floorboards crashed under them, and they all fell down through the hole. Everybody had their eyes shut as tight as possible as they fell down...and crash landed on a solid floor underneath them. Digo looked up, only to see that they were...in some strange, dark hallway. Slowly, the rest of the group came to, and had a look around.

"What the..." El mumbled.

"It...it actually happened..." Ina said in a quiet whisper.

"Oh no, what have we gotten ourselves into now?" Ami groaned.

"This...this is a separate hallway that...I know where we are," the square said.

He had somehow managed to land wheelchair first after the fall. He looked fine, so the group left it at that.

"Well then let's go! We need to get to the large treeangle to heal it!" Digo exclaimed, getting up and brushing himself off.

The others, despite the fact that some of them had fallen on top of each other, did the same as well, preparing to get going again despite their minor problem.

"No! It's too dangerous!" the square barked sternly. "After what we just went through, I won't let you!"

"Well, we not care about danger!!" Ari yelled.

"We've been through worse, and we're not about to give up now!" El shouted.

"Please, just let us do this! We've already rescued several other treeangles!" Ina begged.

The square looked at everyone before sighing loudly.

"Fine. I'll take you to the treeangle."
