🕷Chapter 25: A Return

Cho led the group to an area with lots of houses. Lots of people must have been living here, before the corrupted attacked.

Cho then pointed over to a house and said, "My house is over there. It looks a little old since I was stuck on that island."

The rest of the gang quickly followed over. The outside of the house was covered in dust and dirt, looking like it was abounded.

"Man, that house is really bad looking." Cas said, looking at it.

Cho opened the door and entered the house, and the rest soon followed. The inside looked a lot nicer than the outside. All kinds of books and papers were all over the floor.

"Wow. You're really passionate about researching," Ina remarked.

"So, what do you have in here that'll help us find the treeangle pieces and stop the corrupted?" Coco asked.

Cho quickly turned, and replied "I remember reading a book about different kinds of treeangles and another one about pink corruption. The books are still likely around the house, so search and find them."

The rest nodded, and started searching the house. Not much was left, because it looks like the corrupted collected some things that would show their weakness or information they needed. They looked and looked, but they weren't able to find the books.

"Anything?" Ami asked, looking a bit annoyed.

No one said anything, until Ari responded, "Me find paper with words!"

Digo went over to Ari, and looked at the paper in his hand. There were indeed words on this paper, but he couldn't recognize them.

"What does that even say?" he asked, studying the paper.

The rest went to look but none of them could read what was on the paper. It looked like it was in a different language.

Cas even said, "We can't read that! This must be gibberish."

"Hand it to me," Cho said, holding his hand out, "I have heard of different languages. I think I can read this."

Ari handed him the paper, and he studied the paper. He was studying it for a few minutes, with no one in the group saying anything.

Coco finally broke the silence, by saying, "What does it say?"

"It says 'One of ice stood here so,' and that's all it says." Cho replied, looking a bit confused.

"That's just nonsense, why was that written on there?" Ami asked.

Ari quickly replied, "Paper split in half!"

The rest looked, and he was right.  The paper looked like it was ripped in half on purpose, to stop people in their tracks. It was stopping them.

"Who would even ripped that piece in half? The words are probably not even important anyways?" Cas remarked, after he noticed that the paper was ripped up.

"Could have there been a clue on that piece of paper, so whoever ripped it up trying to hide clues to the treeangle piece?" Ina replied, looking at everyone.

The gang thought for a second, remembering the clue they had found when they had landed on the island.

"That is a very good possibility. It must have been the corrupted who ripped this paper. I guess they can read what this paper says," Cho said, after thinking about it, "They must have hidden the other half around here somewhere."
