Friday Night Dinner

Now that Rory and Blair has just finished their first week of school. And now has to go to their grandparents house for dinner.

Lorelai: well here the first Friday night dinner. Let's all pray we make it out alive.
Blair: (scared) what?! What will happen to us?
Rory: Blair, nothing going to happen. Mom is just telling one of her bad jokes. (Gives Lorelai a stern look) right.
Lorelai: oh baby, nothing will happen to you. They would have to go through me first before they lat a hand on your beautiful hair!
Blair: Thanks! Let's go in now!

Lorelai knocks on the door

The 1st Maid: hello?
Lorelai: I'm Lorelai Richard and Emily's daughter. We're here for dinner.
The 1st Maid: oh come on in!
The maid takes their coats
Rory: thank you
Blair: thanks
Emily: Richard their here!
Rory and Blair: Grandma, nice to see you.
Richard: Hello everybody! Want a drink?
Emily: a Martini
Lorelai: a Martini with a twist!
Emily gives her a look
Rory: I have a water please.
Blair: ummm..... a glass of chocolate milk!
Richard: I don't think we have chocolate milk? Or do we Emily?
Lorelai: Do you have plain milk with chocolate syrup? It's her favorite.
Emily: Cassidy, can you get chocolate milk for my granddaughter.
The 1st Maid: yes I'll get on it.
Blair: it's fine I'll just have plain milk or water.
Emily: if that's what you want?
Blair: yes!
The 1st Maid: dinner is ready.
All eat their dinners silently.
Emily: So Rory how Chilton treating you so far?
Rory: it is going good. My mom has a big wedding coming up at the inn.
Emily: that nice.
Lorelai: yeah it's really huge. There still a lot that work that needs to be done but
Emily cuts her off
Emily: so anything else new at chilton and chilton prep?
Lorelai: (mumbles) oh ok done talking about me
Emily: Lorelai did you say anything?
Lorelai: just that the girls have to pick a sport to play on.
Richard: physical education is just as book smart!
Emily: girls what sport are you going to pick.
Rory: I don't know! there so many!!
Emily: what about you Blair?
Blair: (looks up for I the first time since sitting down) I want to pick soccer and lacrosse, but I can't do both.
Richard: why not?
Lorelai: they want the children to focus also on school.
Blair: I hate it. Girls Soccer is played in the spring and girls lacrosse is played in the fall, I really want to do it and I know I can handle it.
Lorelai: I know. But your teachers want you to tryout for one sport. No one likes a show off!
Blair: Fine.
Emily: what about you Rory?
Rory: well there is soccer, lacrosse, softball, golf, bask.....
(Emily cuts off Rory)
Emily: golf?! Well there a sport did you. Richard can teach you to play.
Richard: well Emily I don't know...
Lorelai: yeah mom let's not push it.
Emily: why Richard you can teach her at the club in Sunday!
Rory: it's ok grandma, I am sure I can find something else!
Emily: don't be ridiculous! Your grandfather can teach you how to play. And you will soon enough be playing like a pro!
Lorelai: mom a word
(Lorelai walks out and Emily soon follows)
Rory, Blair and Richard sit in silent hearing snippets of the argument.
Emily comes back
Emily: dessert is ready.
Lorelai comes in and sit down
Maid: here is the Crème Brûlée
Rory: I would love to go and have you teach me to play golf grandpa.
Richard: well I would love to teach you Rory!
They all take yours and eat and the girls leave Emily and Richard
Rory: so how are you doing?
Lorelai: good. How much did you hear of our conversation?
Blair: only snippets!
Lorelai: so the whole thing.
Rory and Blair: yes
Blair: even some talk about Dad!
Lorelai: baby, I am so sorry. We'll try not to talk about him that much to bother you.
Blair: ( why would it bother me I hardly know him from the side talks I hear from you and Rory. Why won't they talk to me about him)
