Dear Diary,

My Dad told me a story.

"I once knew a girl who was just like you. She loved soccer and other girls made fun of her. She was the bravest woman I've ever met. She stood up for herself no matter what. She believed that a girl can do anything a boy can. Do you know who she is?"

"Who?"

It's your mother of course. During our college days, she would play soccer with me. She had faith in herself and I loved her attitude. Here. I have a photo of her playing soccer with me."

My Dad showed me a photograph.

My Mom was there, smiling with a thumbs-up

My Mom was there, smiling with a thumbs-up. She had black hair until her shoulders. She had a Yankees baseball cap and she wore shorts along with a jersey and some Adidas. One of her legs were on top of the soccer ball. She still looked the same now, trying not to attract attention but still looking stunningly beautiful.

My dad was beside. His blonde hair was shining under the sun but his face didn't seem so weary as now. He wore the same outfit my Mom was wearing.

I thanked my Dad and went to bed- I skipped dinner, boy the fries made me so full.

I looked at the stars outside my window and thought, everyone is a star and has the right to shine after all. Right?
